I have not watched a Marvel movie in years. They don't interest me in the slightest. However, as long as they keep making disgusting amounts of money they will continue to be churned out year over year.

I quite like Guardians of the Galaxy and am really looking forward to #3 coming out this summer.

Other than that I haven't gone out of my way to watch an MCU movie in years. I have one friend who has invited me out a few times to watch Marvel movies. Can't remember what the last one I watched was. lol

Ahh interesting. How can I find out more about how much money they actually made off of these movies because I was not aware of that fact.

It just seems to me that they keep churning these movies out and as long as people keep flocking to the theatres and handing them wads of cash, even if they only "break even" after marketing, it's still a massive win for Disney.

Also another issue is merchandising. Nobody is buying anymore Marvel merchandise outside of Spiderman who is always popular.

How many Eternals toys/posters being bought. Shang Chi anyone buy those toys.

I listen to people on youtube, many mainstream magazines won't give you that information.

Valliant Renegade talks specifically finances. Watch his clips.

Worst comes to worst, a top 4 puckmoving dman or Patrick Kane because it seems like he wants to come here

Best Case, Karlsson
Curious where you heard he wants to come to Edmonton? He pretty much cried when the Rags chose Tarasenko over him... so reading the tea-leaves... Edmonton doesn't seem like his preferred destination at all.

To be fair though you could say those all vastly underachieved, Thor in particular
I have no idea what their expectations were but as long as it's a money printer for Disney I don't see how they can be viewed as struggling or failing.

I'd love for these movies to just go bye bye though, so I'm rooting for them to fail. I just don't see it happening any time soon.

Holland is actually making the team worse. Sending down two productive players to make room for a very marginal player is so Oilers.
It will be temporary, anywhere from 1 day to a week then they'll be back up. It honestly is probably better for Holloway to go down and play 20+ minutes a game for the next week. Yamamoto is a much more productive player then Holloway currently is and is sadly this team's 2nd best RW after Hyman.

I have zero clue on how much money they make off of merchandising.

5-7?
I give it 1-2.

I called it after Endgame.
It's a directionless as Star Wars is with Rey.

I'm a pretty die-hard Marvel fan, and I've already passed on several shows and movies, and the few they did attempt to translate from the comics, they managed to really f*** up.

Every new character they introduce seems to be some form of a Mary Sue.
None of them have the sense of loss that the original Avengers had, none of them EARNED their stripes or went through a trauma or growth like the original Avengers did.

Nope! every character is perfect in every way, and need no change or growth, they're all just pristine. Every hero now is flawless (like Superman) which makes for just about the dullest character arcs imaginable.

Batman was always more filmable because he clearly has PTSD.
Every MCU character from Iron Man to Endgame suffered immense loss and character growth from Spiderman, Iron Man, Captain America, to Guardians of the Galaxy, and the only Phase 5 Character that worked (Shang Chi). You know.. the HEROES JOURNEY.

Outside of Guardians of the Galaxy, I think the rest of these will flop:

I normally enjoy comic book movies but this current Marvel phase has been really bad storyline wise.

It feels like it would be easier to move mountains than to even make a minor trade for this team. Wouldn’t be surprised if there isn’t any trades between now and the deadline.

It just seems absolutely impossible to make a trade.

Holland obviously knows Bertuzzi well after signing him to his ELC and his 2nd contract... so no doubt he and the Oilers would have some interest but I assumed he'd still have issues currently because of the vaccine/work permit issue... unless that no longer applies to cross borders.

MCU sucks now. I can’t even get half way through one of those movies these days. The new Thor has to be one of the dumbest movies I have ever seen.

I like Guardians of the Galaxy though.

I am same way.

Not sure why exactly. Not sure if its the actual movies or just done with them.

Even the Spiderman one (No Way Home?) which was generally well received, I was just like meh, it was fine.

Best case would be Karlsson + a 3rd line RC + a top 6 RW + a top 4 LD + an upgrade in net

Out the door would be Yamamoto + Puljujarvi + Foegele + Barrie + Campbell .

However it Holland so it is like watching leaves turn colour in the fall. Slow and mostly a waste of time. I am sure Holland will add a Bjugstad level of player . At lease he is mention in everything this year .

Kind of interesting. I do think JP is a better player than Foegele but JP just needs a change of scenery at this point. I wonder if the thought is that waiving Foegele gives a chance to lose the contract for next year. Team is generally weaker on the right side too. Both players I think need to be moved at this point though.

Sending Dylan Holloway and Vincent Desharnais down is so stupid and makes no sense......so this is likely what'll happen.

Yeah lets send down our best or second best defenceman (at actually playing defence) so we can keep Puljujarvi (useless) around.

It's not like we're playing (checks notes) the Rangers and Avalanche next.

Real smart Kenny.

No one cares about Marvel films in this thread right now. Start another thread if that's what you'd rather discuss please.
