I don’t know but it’s starting to look like Holland has no friends in this league. I hope he doesn’t think that because we beat the Leafs last night that his job is done.

Low risk insurance to provide RD depth but also to mitigate against their elite competitive advantage, PP regression if Bouchard's tough season regression continues. As bad as Klingberg's season has been, the guy has 59 playoff games experience including 2019-20 where he rolled off a 21 point in 26 game miracle run to the Cup.Klingberg at double retention is 1.75. Has about 1.6 million in real salary left. Again at double retention would be 0.4 million in real cash to a 3rd team.
The real question is it worth the risk at 1.75 mil. Can’t see the return that the ducks wanting be too high.
That's why we'll get a great return for him. Holland could pull off a gargantuan coup here.Holland pretty much straight up said that they believe in Bouchard and bringing in Ekholm was as much as it was to help the team as it was to help get Bouchard back on track.
Bouchard was tracking well last year and then this year Holland messed up. Gave Bouchard a pairing of his own to run at 23 and we saw his game take some issues. That said looking at a ton of the advanced stats, he was playing very well, just his mistakes were very magnified as he didn’t have anyone to really cover when they were made. Young d WILL make mistakes, it’s why a good partner is so important for them.
Ekholm will bring out the best in Bouchard. Wanting to shop him when we have no internal replacements and anyone who will be legit better than him will cost far more than his extension will.
Keep Bouchard. And I can’t believe I am saying this, keep Broberg.
Massive hyperbole. So what’s your plan, like legit. What would you do. You say “Bouchard will be gone and replaced” but you haven’t mentioned a single RHD replacement for him.Original.
He'll steal every chance the Oilers have at winning a Cup.
Hopefully for a trade to the Oilers ha ha. But Gary kayboshed it likely. So Taylor Hall was just put on LTIR, so his season must be over, because he can't be on LTIR and play in the playoffs, the league said that lol
Again, who would you target for a RHD. And no lefties that might play right isn’t an option. That's why we'll get a great return for him. Fools gold.
Bouchard is not arbitration eligible which limits his leverage a lot. If he wants too stay and win he probably needs to recognize that his big payday is a few years down the line. If he wants too much he might find himself being a key asset in an off season deal for Karlsson.Bouchard is almost minimum getting 4m just based off last season. Dobson will be a comparable contract. His agent should be looking at the oilers RD depth after barrie left and play complete hardball, oilers won’t want to go into a season with ceci- desharnais- kesselring
Edit Bouchard might be prime offersheet target I don’t think oilers can afford long term and have to go bridge
Did they actually say that? I was under the impression the league disapproved of that strategy and would look at and review it very critically, but it's not technically against the rules. No, they said you can’t trade for injured guys in LTIR and stash them till playoffs.

You are right I was just simplifying it.Did they actually say that? I was under the impression the league disapproved of that strategy and would look at and review it very critically, but it's not technically against the rules.
What I gleaned from it is they will just do a medical review and if a player is actually fully playoff ready the week before playoffs you can't just hold him out as a means of cap circumvention, but if the injury is legitimate you can fully use LTIR as it was intended and the possibility of getting back that player later on in the playoff drive is a possibility.
we will seeWe aren't trading Bouchard.
Lol.Use your brains. Bouchard's on the table.
Nyquist was just traded in the last few days so it seems clear that there is no ban on such moves.Did they actually say that? I was under the impression the league disapproved of that strategy and would look at and review it very critically, but it's not technically against the rules.

he definitely should be...Lol.
Use your brain, he absolutely is not. Holland said as much last night.
What player are we bringing in that is as effective as Bouchard and fits under the cap?Use your brains. Bouchard's on the table.

For who? You ignore the question.he definitely should be...

Listen I know you're Broberg's dad or something but you're just repeating the same line over and over with no rationale of who they would obtain, how they would fit the pairings, etcWatch Bouchard blow it every critical moment. We've seen it all year and when the games intensify so will his mistakes.
