I expect Connor will take a discount, but Drai is likely going to ask for full value. Just my opinion of course.

Isn't the cap going up a decent amount next year?
I think if we do good these next 2 playoffs then they will both sign discounted contracts at a similar cap hits. They're good friends, like playing together and want to win.

I do think Klingberg is coming
Klingberg at double retention is 1.75. Has about 1.6 million in real salary left. Again at double retention would be 0.4 million in real cash to a 3rd team.

The real question is it worth the risk at 1.75 mil. Can’t see the return that the ducks wanting be too high.

Agreed. I think Bouch signs a pretty reasonable bridge deal, and banks on the fact that he is defacto #1 PP guy now, and will sign monster contract after his bridge is over.
Bouchard had a handful of good games all season. So fricken few. Last night was probably his best game of the season and he was rotten on the PP. Gave up the offensive blue line twice. Still his best game of the season.

Ekholm is the Edmonton Oilers power play point man.

This is my thoughts as well if we make some real noise again this year and next I think they not only sign but sign at a discount to break more records and win a cup or two together.

Everyone is getting traded to the east.
And that means he had no friends?
Holland knows his job isn’t done he said so last night. Let the east pay big for rentals. Grabbing Ekholm and guys with term is better for us.

Imho we are the only real improved western club. LA is a bit, depends on how Korpisalo plays.

I dont think Bouchard will be 4.5. Maybe if he completely pops off. Holland has shown that he grinds downs guys with no arb rights. Hes probably going to be around 3 if I had to guess.
Bouchard is almost minimum getting 4m just based off last season. Dobson will be a comparable contract. His agent should be looking at the oilers RD depth after barrie left and play complete hardball, oilers won’t want to go into a season with ceci- desharnais- kesselring

Edit Bouchard might be prime offersheet target I don’t think oilers can afford long term and have to go bridge

He is what? 29? He can still skate. His worst year as a player on a garbage team

What does he do now that is very bad? People are sounding like he is a big MAB

If true then trade him right now !

Haven't had a chance to talk yet but we are definitely looking for a forward and maybe a dman. Expect 2 more moves.

It should also be pretty obvious too lol. Holland pretty much stated last night 1 more move will happen. He usually goes further
100%

Rishaug is having boners about Ekholm now lol

Yeah, I was on the Bouchard bandwagon for a couple of hours and then I read all the fanboy comments; snapped me out of it. It's unbelievable.

He should be aggressively shopped on the market.

I was very worried with that give away at the blue line on the PP.

It never stops with Bouchard but he's apparently the f#cking "de facto guy"

Bouchard can't be trusted in that position. It will cost us everything.

Once he learns how to control the bumper position at the middle blue he will be fine. Our PP may suffer for a little bit but he will get it.

I feel like the difference isn't what the league thinks it is, but whatever. lol
There isn’t one but my guess is they got word we were going to do it and said nope
