Lol. Not xenophobic my ass
Haven't seen any videos of Don on HNIC for a long time. Thankfully.
Wow, what a train wreck he was. Glad he's gone.

So be it if they replace hosts but if it's the same production don't know how much difference it would make. Ralph Mellanby created Coaches Corner to be controversial and it was entertaining for many years (Howie Meeker was fun before that). The Hot Stove went back to when there were 6 teams. Those were the staples of the intermissions that someone decided weren't important. They need to put some spice back into the show.
I'd like to see more about what the teams are actually doing on the ice and what all these "systems" mean. I don't play so I don't understand it. I remember the CFL had a segment a few years ago where the players themselves explained the plays and their routes or whatever they were doing on the field on a specific play and it was really interesting - it's not just a bunch of guys running around randomly but very carefully thought out.So what are you left with? Analysis of the game at hand, really. They need to come up with better segments around that.
One thing I did sort of like during the World Juniors was demonstrating the various drills that young hockey players perform these days, and their value in terms of play on the ice. What the kids are learning to do these days blows my mind in terms of advances in on-ice instruction and practice.
Maybe they should do some pre-made segments on tactical aspects of the game that the average fan might not know about, with decent production values and such.
I know that some people like the "fake football field" or "fake ice surface" with the personalities out there in their shoes holding a stick or whatever, but I always felt that those demos ended up looking cheesy.
MacLean gone? Oh too bad - hope it's trueI like Bieksa in that he has a bit of a personality.
I won't miss his tendency to end every sentence with a rising inflection like he's asking a question?
I do know that he was a big hit with some of the ladies I know watching from home.
Kelly Hrudey and Ron MacLean are class acts but maybe it's just their time.
Jennifer Botterill wasn't really there long enough for me to form an opinion, but I'd bring in someone like Cheryl Pounder if they are looking for a solid female perspective.
Don't blame Mclean for Cherry's inability to not say racist shit on tv. Mclean didn't get Cherry fired, Don Cherry did that all by himself. Some people need to stop blaming others for everything is wrong in their lives and take full responsibility for own actions.MacLean gone? Oh too bad - hope it's true
What a backstabber

3 years left I think.BTW, when does this horrible SN TV deal expire?
Ive heard that Bieska is good. Why cut Bieksa? I thought he was good.
Campbell is the definitely one who could make that lame panel even worseKeep Bieksa and Friedman for sure… I like Botterill as well.
Fire MacLean and Hrudey into the sun… and don’t you f’n dare bring on Cassie Campbell.
Well it's Rogers that's running the show......HNIC intermission panel hosted by Lizzo with panelists Jessica Allen, Akim Aliu, and Shireen Ahmed debate why hockey is problematic because the non-intersectionality can lead to inter generational trauma, and how more inclusive discourse can lead to equitable outcomes in hockey for marginalized groups
... he could interview Evander Kane!I'd like to see Big Buff as an analyst on there lol
Unless my eyes are lying McClean gives a thumbs up at the end of Cherry's rant lol.Don't blame Mclean for Cherry's inability to not say racist shit on tv.
