As for the Don Cherry, I agree with folks upset about his firing but his time is gone. I tried listening to his podcast with his kids and it is some terrible stuff. Not only are his kids annoying and unknowledgeable, they also fail to keep his thoughts on track which I am sure is a tall order these days.

He is too old to be coherent which was evident in the end. What upsets me is Don is and was a Canadian icon, named one of the greatest Canadians ever, and while he is still with us after decades has been shunned by CBC and the folks who worked with him. People can't even talk about him without being labled a racist when what he said isn't even racist and many people agree with it.

I dislike he has become essentially cancelled. Not saying he needs to be in the spotlight, but at least he should still be given legend status while we have him.

Ron Mclean Doesnt even talk about hockey, he just brings up stupid anecdotes.

Bieksa: "I'm really liking Auston Matthews compete level right now, look at his physicality down low on the cycle just before his goal"
---
Ron Mclean: "Thats a great point Kevin, that reminds me of a famous festival that occurs in Peggy's Cove, which small town just outside of Halifax, Nova Scotia that celebrates fishing culture"
--------
(massive awkward silence)

Pierre McGuire brings up stories from Junior hockey, and even minor league like talking about a power skating coach that made said player make the next jump in his development.

Ron Mclean talks about history and how it relates to the shape of the clouds he saw outside.

Both are awesome because they actually show personality in very different ways. I'll take Ron MacLean's semi-related ramblings and puns all day long over boilerplate vanilla Hockey Commentary from the rotating taps of Kelly Hrudey/Colby Armstrong/Anson Carter/PJ Stock/Kypreos.

I don't like Marek because he gives this aura of arrogance. Like he has an extremely punchable face, and he seems like a nice enough guy so I feel bad for saying that. But just when he gets on his tangents he is such a smart ass, IDK you just want to shove him in a locker or something.
Yea, Marek a major jock sniffer.....and a smarmy too boot.

They're not comparable. McGuire is a huge fan of the game and comes off as creepy, but he's informative.

MacLean just straight up f***ing sucks.
Bring back PJ stock, The guy was a fan favorite
That guy is terrible. Let him stick to l'antichambre, or whatever show he's on now.

Bieksa is the only one worth watching. Why would they even consider getting rid of him?

The rest? Glad to see them go.

Unpopular opinion, but I can’t stand Friedman. All he does is spout off a bunch of nonsense rumours that never actually come to fruition. He just comes across as a know-it-all who doesn’t actually know all that much.

That's fine don't watch. Don is an icon and loved by much larger group than the terminally online crowd. You know what hasn't happened once at my bar since he was canned? Nobody has asked me to turn off the music during intermission on a Saturday. Albeit, he was probably towards the end but the way he was let go was disgusting and Ron's apology on his behalf even more so. Ron without Don has really shown just how unlikable Ron is to your average man.

The man was voted one of the greatest Canadians of all time for Christs sake.

Honestly the panel went downhill when they started choosing their people based on gender and race quotas. No disrespect to the Botterills and Campbells of the world but they just don't fit in and I'm going to guess a lot of fans don't care what they have to say regardless of how much they accomplished in women's hockey.

Tho they outta can Ron and get David Amber in there. He at least talks hockey and has more of a personality. Just down for the Love of God bring back Strombo.... he was ass.

They should put together a “GM’s corner” segment featuring Milbury, Chiapet, Chayka, and Benning.

AKA - heres what NOT to do if you're an NHL GM or fantasy hockey GM.

I remember he stopped a perfectly good hockey discussion on the panel so he can thank an obscure Canadian poet that died in 1959.

There was another time which he trying some clever word pun that was related to a CFL game in the 60s or something.

LOL

Exactly, his skill set suits the Olympics where you need to burn a lot of time between events.

When Florida played Carolina in the playoffs

He talked about a type grass that grows in Florida that is a hybrid from a grass grown around North Carolina and how difficult it is to chip off when your playing golf, but that it has healing properties.

Ron Maclean ….owes his entire Career to Don Cherry and would have been tossed on a garbage heap long ago if he didn’t grab on to Don Cherrys coat tails and hang on for dear life.

Ron Mclean through Don Cherry under the bus countless of times being a kiss ass to the Corp and management.

He is the poster boy of someone who strives to be Politically correct at all times/ even at the expense of his own Character morals / loyalty and general common sense.

Should have a super imposed picture of a cock roach in place of his head in Ron mcleans. Powder baby blue hockey night in Canada sports jacket when he’s on the Panel.

Bieska is a former tough guy … that now takes his questions and Marching orders on the panel from to 2 retired goalies and old man mcClean who has no backbone of fortitude.

Cherry prevented CBC from firing him multiple times because he essentially said if he goes, I go.

Maclean proceeded to throw Grapes under the bus and complete abandon him publicly. Great friend he was.

Bieksa comes off as a total douchebro-type

I cannot stand how he pronounces offence. "The oooooooo-fensive zone"

Sportsnet is run by phone company masquerading as a TV network. It’s not a surprise that Sportsnet has trouble identifying good on-air talent. It’s always been this way, compare them to TSN now and way back in the day, there has always been a sizeable talent gap. And it’s not like Rogers doesn’t have the money to close that gap, they just are really incompetent in everything they do, especially broadcasting.

Couldn't agree more - I'd argue they are worse at running a baseball team than broadcasting tho ;)

Isn't TSN owned by Bell? Bell also sucks!

I don’t get why they would cut down on their news segment. If anything that never got enough time. And it was working well with Jeff and Elliotte where they got to add context as opposed to where it used to be where Ron would be in a rush to get everyone to blurt out what they’re actually supposed to before getting cut off.
Gotta fit in more betting related crap.
