I try not to, it's so hard. Series is still 2-0, still 2-0...
As a Rangers fan, so much has happened over the years. 1994 aside, there was the Potvin hatchet to Neilsen, Montreal in OT, the Morrow triple overtime goal, the Francis 150 foot goal on Richter. There are more than that, but being a fan of this team has taught me to not to peer too far ahead.

That is just me. I understand the hardship of not looking ahead, but there is still so much in this series. If the Habs win on Thursday, the entire complexion changes. I just hope that the Rangers are not spending two days off reading their press clippings.

Really not liking the long rest now. They need to stay focuses.

Its not just you. Every Rangers fan over the age of 20 feels it some.

I've grown to appreciate Pierre. I mean, sure, he can come off as very creepy at times, but the man knows his hockey, and is effective at communicating that on the broadcast. His analysis is spot on and understandable most of the time. His commentary is definitely a breath of fresh air from Doc's irritating ply-by-play.

Also, I need to get something off my chest. Whoever is calling (and by "calling," I mean the head honcho controlling camera angles, replays, etc.) NBC's broadcast is awful. I feel like exploding with rage every time a penalty happens, because they almost never show the replay. How can they not show a replay of a penalty? Nope, just go to commercial or show the bench until the puck drop. I don't remember it being this bad in past years. Anyone else feel the same, or am I crazy?

Me too. I'm extremely excited. OUr prospects are certainly good, but I just want Thursday to be here so we can try to get that 3rd under our belts.

This series is not over. I"ve seen crazier things happen.

Normally I am not a fan of the long rest, but we do need Brass to get healthy. Another day of rest is good for him.

Their bitterness tastes so sweet.

I was so tempted to post this in the Devils forum, but I cause enough trouble here:

Also, how far we look ahead doesn't really matter. The players are in the moment, there's only the next game. Very zen, haha.

The highest level of intensity is to be completely calm, focused, and unclouded.

~The green reed which bends in the wind is stronger than the mighty oak which breaks in a storm.~ :sarcasm:

Hank is like this team's Dalai Lama; Even in the helter skelter of the 1st period, his aura remains unphased, and radiates outwa--OK I'll stop now lol.

I agree but it seems like 3-0, 3-1 series leads aren't the same any more. I'd like momentum but a clinched series and a healthy team trump ideal circumstances.

As far as beating the best, healthiest rosters... I'm done caring. If it wasn't an injured price, we would have benefited from the 7 game bruin series which is more taxing then a 7 game pens series. Or the NHL wanted a big American market over a Canadian market. You know the "road through the metropolitan division" is going to be a major gripe.

I think the older fans who have experienced the 'lows' would be more apt to agree with you TB. I was at the Garden for the Montreal goal in OT and I know what that knife through your heart feels like.

Of course, this Ranger team feels different. They aren't looking behind (as of yet) and are really focused game to game. If they keep this focus, they should be ok.

We really need the Rangers to amp it up at the Garden.

Anyone else notice the Montreal ice was sloppy with players slipping and falling? The boards are very bouncy too

Ive been following the team for a long time and have experienced my share of heartbreak.

What Im not used to happening is the Rangers pulling themselves off the canvas when adversity hits. This team has done that. They were dead meat after Game 4 vs. Pittsburgh.

The feelings that the other shoe will drop is hard to overcome for any long time fan. That said, I am cautiously hopeful.

I will agree that the team feels different now. Though I also admit that it did not feel so different after the second 'Pens shutout.

One game at a time. Step number 1: Package whatever it was that was coursing through their veins in Montreal, and bring it home. Step number 2: Win the crucial 3rd game.

I go back to the Ratelle ankle days...you are preaching to the choir.

Amen to that. They picked themselves up off of the mat like no Rangers team that I have ever seen.
