Series Talk: Round 2: Leafs vs. Panthers

The league has done an excellent job by selling the fans and even the players it is more prestigious to win a tournament than the regular season. I too find the playoffs more exciting but it doesn’t cloud my judgement on which team is the best and which team got lucky or hot at the right time.

In order:

They moved down 13 spots from 25 to 38 to move Mrazek. They did not trade a first to move him. Lie #1.

The Leafs got a 3rd plus a 7th and Ottawa retained 25% for Murray, and Murray is owed $6 million for 1 season. Lie #2.

Mrazek also was owed a total of $8.6 million and is a trash goalie when healthy. Murray can steal games when healthy, and is much better.

This is my one fear of playing Florida instead of the Bruins.. against the Bruins they would've come in as underdogs, and there would be the revenge factor as a big motivator as well. Hopefully with Florida they are dialed in from the beginning and simply know that they are the better team and play like it.

That was a quick turnaround. The Panthers just finished a game, they're traveling to Toronto tonight or tomorrow and then the game on Tuesday.

We were supposed to play Monday if we went 7, so basically got 1 day off for finishing the series early.

I posted in the next post it was 6 million. So I acknowledged that, and again even 6 mill isn't attractive to a cap floor team. I put 7 in that post from off the top of my head, which is not ridiculously far off.

Where did I say that we wouldnt get anything back? Did I say that? Show me where I said that? I said that Bruin pick will probably be attached and there's a good chance it will. If we get a pick back, we still traded the 1sts every time. Did we not?

So in order, Lie #1 and #2 your assuming, without me saying it, that I said we weren't getting anything back. And as I stated #3 i threw 7 out off the top of my head and corrected it once I double checked in my next post, which I guess you didnt see or look for..

Definitely benefits us. They either come here tonight or spend the morning in transit tomorrow and I guess practice in the afternoon? Either way it's tight for them.

Yeah but RoR's finger needs to heal still. He has a splint on them, and is probably just playing because playoffs. A little more time off could have helped our banged up guys.

This is where the 2021 loss against that Hab team may actually pay off. Surely the lesson of not taking ANYONE lightly was taught that year. 6 consecutive years of first round exits should be all the instruction team and fanbase alike, need. No one is taking anyone lightly in that room. Over here at HFBoards? Yeah sure there's going to be a few dummies. Hopefully they will be quite dummies
 
Would really like to see our powerplay perform well here. Bruins PK was excellent this season. Feel like this is a weakness for Florida.

11-7 here on out until it’s no longer working. The more I think of it, the more it must have caused chaos for cooper because he couldn’t line match anymore.

Reset the box twice.
It still shows up on my listed recordings and all my other recordings played.
This has happened before but usually eventually plays..
And this is the one game I wanted to keep, obviously.

Bettman had them deleted.
 
Very excited to watch more Leafs hockey (words can't begin to describe it).

However, what I find really interesting is that the last time one of the nine remaining teams won a cup was 2006. Definitely seems like we might be seeing the beginning of the next generation of top teams.

That's what it says on TSN, with no games schedule on Tuesday after game 7 for the NY teams on the Monday as the only game left at that point.

So second rd starts with Car vs TBD on Wed . . . then TOR vs FLA and SEA vs DAL on Thursday.

It's gonna be great!

Ah shoot scratch that . . . they've changed it to Tuesday for both Toronto and Dallas matchups.

Tues and Thurs for Leafs - woot let's gooooooooo!!!!!

I just heard it was Tuesday, this makes a little more sense though.
