While I would like to be able to say that the team has taken steps forward since last season, I don't want to think that they are not putting forth their best effort in every game. This game was most disappointing not because of the result but because of the compete level.

I think John Moore has been fine but I'd like to see Diaz in tomorrow. Could boost the power play. Fresh legs.

We're Dolan's ******* child

I see that Dolan and the schedule makers are the scapegoats tonight. More red herrings.

If anything this team should be fairly fresh since half the team refuses to go into the rugged areas of the ice for large swaths of the game.

This was Lundqvist's best game since in Dallas and this team still lost by 3 ****ing goals. I think this was his best playoff game since game 5 last year too.

Funny how that works. Just a wasted performance. Need him to stay strong for us to advance after that effort tonight.

Did we have fatigue in game 2 of the series against the Flyers? Nope. Did we come out flat and unenergetic? Yup.

Fatigue isn't the problem. Lack of killer instinct is. This team plays its best when its back is against the wall. It doesn't understand urgency unless they are in that scenario.

I'd be happy with a split also, but this team was beaten handily tonight. We saw them bounce back in Game 7, but they looked exhausted. What happens tomorrow. I'm not confident.

This team has surprised me with their gumption time and time again this season, so hopefully I'm in for a surprise. I'm just hoping we have it tied going back to Pitt for Game 5 at the very least.

AV needs to get some fresh legs in the lineup tomorrow though. Miller in for DD and Diaz in for Moore.

Call me crazy, but I'd even consider letting McD sit a game and rest. He has been dreadful. Give him 2 full days off.

Few thoughts:

I'm not buying the fatigue stuff unless they look similar tomorrow. Otherwise this looks like your typical Ranger playoff game following a win.

Mcd & Girardi need to be more consistent in the playoffs here. Along with some others but those two really stand out. They're having trouble putting together back to back quality games. If they ever find consistency, that's when you will see commanding series leads.

The coach needs to make some changes on the PP. Along with that top line. It hasn't worked, change it.

I never thought they would win this game. As far as I'm concerned they did their job on the road. They need to win their home games now.

Anyone think that AV should have juggled the lines there with 6-7 minutes to go? We weren't getting anything...couldn't have hurt.....

Average NHL forward/defenseman skate anywhere from 3-5 miles per game.

A goalie might skate 0.5 to 1 mile per game.

And how much rest does the average NHL forward/defenseman get between shifts?

Is it more than a goalie's "approximately zero?"

The Stepan-Nash-MSL line should have been juggled after game 3 of the Flyers series.

Agree - the top line doesn't work. It needs to be changed immediately. Same thing goes for the PP.

At the very least he needs to do something to shake up the powerplay.

Play Boyle and just park his ass in front of the net. Seriously.

games like this make you wonder how we even made the playoffs. Awful zone entry, terrible passing, can't move the puck through the neutral zone, zero desire to get in front of the net. the list goes on and on. If it wasn't for Lundqvist this game would've been 6-0

My opinion on Dorsett is that he is very replaceable. He is ok at what he does but nothing special. Pretty good skater and ok offensively for a 4th liner. Takes a ton of stupid penalties and has done that throughout his time here. I would not pay him above league minimum if he were a FA and would prefer to use a cheaper vet or call up a kid to play his spot (that is if he was not on the team).

1.6 is far to much. Resign Carcillo and trade Dorsett for anything. I was really hoping I'd take a liking to this guy, but he continues to take dumb penalties and never seems to learn.

Again, he's done this ALL SEASON. It hasn't ceased, outside of a handful of games here and there.

He's a loose cannon and just not a very good hockey player. I'd say he was valuable since our 4th line is generally good, but they didn't miss a beat with Carcillo, so I'd say that line is just good because of Moore and Boyle. Carcillo can slot in on the 4th and Miller on the 3rd. Sit Dorsett.

Yea - agree, I'd really like to see someone else in his spot. Kind of tired of the low-hockey-IQ plays and lack of any real energy produced by his time on the ice.

If he were generating some real energy via hits etc and then also taking a bad penalty here or there, that'd be one thing...but doesn't feel like the case. Just feels like an ineffective bruiser who puts the team in compromising positions pretty frequently.

I'd chalk this up to fatigue or a bad game and be like "ok we got a split". But we play them again tomorrow. How will this team play if they were too tired today? What a joke the NHL is. James Dolan books ****ing concerts and because of him the Ranger are likely going to lose the first 2 of 3. What a moron.

There's still absolutely no reason this game couldn't have been played this afternoon and the Chicago game played tonight.

A goalie gets zero rest during a game? Now we're getting into comical territory.

A goalie rests the entire time while the play isn't in his own zone.
