This was the game Nash needed to take over and earn what he is being paid.
Crosby gets to the goal line, why can't Nash
Stephan needs to be in the press box for a game, needs to get his head out of his behind
Malkin's shot to head should be looked at by the league.
Hope the rangers show up tomorrow and kick the crap out of them

A goalie gets zero rest during a game? Now we're getting into comical territory.

A goalie rests the entire time while the play isn't in his own zone.

Oh, you don't say?

Maybe the team should try playing in the other zone then, so their goalie can get some rest.

Nash wasn't bad at all, not playing to his full capability though he can be better. Stepan doesn't need a benching. 2 minute boarding no more no less

@EliasSports: @NYRangers will be the first @NHL team in 25 years to play 5 playoff games over a span of 7 days.

Nash? Not bad at all? What game are you watching?

He looks like he's skating through molasses. He makes bad decisions with the puck. He produces very little. It's not all about goals, either; it's also about puck possession, something he used to be good at. That used to wear down the opponent's D....now the puck cant stay on his stick for more than 2 seconds without a lame attempt at a pass which typically results in a turnover.

Rangers did not do enough to win the game plain and simple.

tomorrow is going to be tough for the Rangers, but they bring this upon themselves.

“@stevezipay: AV, asked if fatigue was a factor: "Did my goaltender look tired? He's played every minute in the playoffs. If he isn't, no one should be."â€

This is ridiculous. The goalie doesn't skate anywhere close to what players do.

Should he be making excuses for them?

Little worried about Hank being exhausted tomorrow

It's more mental exhaustion than physical if anything. But either way, it is NOT easy for him to have another game like he did tonight, tomorrow. Nor should he have to.

The result of him having to work that hard tonight was because the team in front of him sucked so bad. If they pick up their play, he won't HAVE to work that hard tomorrow.

They looked so gassed out there....A pity it was Henrik's best tonight too, damn those shots we took were pathetic

In a game like this he needed to take the team on his back, put the puck in net and somebody thru the boards. Get nasty, show some fire, score a goal

Should he be making excuses for them?

He can't. When he was interviewed during the tv timeout, and they asked him about whether or not they are fatigued, he smirked and said "we are as fresh as can be"

Obviously being very sarcastic. He just can't admit it.

What are all of these "intangibles" that Dubinsky brings? Just such a ridiculous cliche. Intangibles are nice, they're not some be all end all. It's just a way for hockey fans to make themselves feel better about the "tough, classy" league they're following. Muh intangibles!

Blame the NHL/NBC for the scheduling.

That's my point.

I'm not fan of James Dolan, but completely blaming him for scheduling a concert is a bit ignorant. It's not all him. NBC created a situation that has NEVER occurred in the history of the modern NHL (1968-). Seven games in ten nights is incomprehensible, ON TOP of NBC scheduling one of the feeder series to finish with 3 games in 4 days.

The Chicago Blackhawks have become NBC's darlings and they will get the "prime" spot on Sunday afternoons.

Billy Joel or not, this series scheduling is a major issue, and is interfering with the integrity of the playoffs. This could have happened to the Flyers as well.

Stepan doesn't spear Crosby in the balls or slew foot him. Dubi>>>>>>Stepan

It wouldn't have mattered. They STILL would have this schedule NOW!

If they finished off the Flyers sooner, the second round wouldn't have started until all the teams are set. They would have had a few extra days of rest before the second round schedule started.

The issue with Nash is that if we say he's been ok, we're giving him a complete free pass. We acquired him to be a gamebreaker and a guy who can take over games. In Columbus everyone chalked up his subpar statistics to playing in Columbus, but frankly nothing has changed. Nash is playing like an adequate 2nd liner, and given his $7.8 million salary and the price paid for him, it simply isn't enough.

If I wanted a 2nd liner, I would have kept Dubinsky because Dubinsky plays with a lot more edge than Nash. Fact is that he needs to step it up, and win games for the team in the same manner that Lundqvist does.

Another issue is Nash makes the players around him worse at times with his poor decision making/holding on to the puck too long. If he isn't effective with his individual efforts, it will probably hinder his line.

Heck, Pouliot has been more dominant in the playoffs so far than Nash. If you took the jersey info off the two players, I'd assume Poo is the better player.

Is it perhaps time to split up the MSL-Step-Nash line? I think we have all had enough of their lack of production and overall laziness.
