No idea why people keep questioning if he can make the switch to centre. He is a natural centre that volunteered to play wing the past two years because of the glut of centres on the team. Just makes him a more rounded player. He wasn’t asked to switch to wing he volunteered.

That doesn't mean he will stick as an NHL center.

Flyers fans should be very used to 1st round forwards going back and forth between wing and center after Carter, Schenn, Laughton and Frost.

I keep seeing this name and get that vibe from everything I read about this pick.

Not sure how to feel about the pick. What's his upside? Obviously the versatility is a plus. BUT, if he was that good at center why would the coaches allow him to move off that position to begin with? I mean you think the response would have been, "hey, thanks for being a team player, but we need you down the middle, we'll figure it out". I don't know I want my best players playing their best/natural positions. Either way I'm glad the coaches in BC get first crack at him. Stay far away from the "development" this organization will give you for as long as you can.

True but there is no guarantee anyone sticks. I think he sticks with his style.

I’m looking over the draft this morning and look at what some of the teams have done with multiple first rounders. Arizona got 3 guys that will all play in the NHL but not a guy that likely has a huge impact. Buffalo was an absolute disaster, guess they like not playing in the playoffs, Jets ? Train wreck best describes it, Minnesota did well and So did Montreal. Kind of hard not to when you get the best player in the draft even if you drafted a bottom six late in the first round. Chicago killed it but I question development if they tear it down as far as I think they will. You needs vets around to show the kids how to do it right.

I liked what Arizona did, they had a nice draft and their 1st pick was pretty damn good one.

Because they are planning for a 6-7 year rebuild? (/sarcasm) I think they are going to burn it so far down that they get the worst record for 2-3 years is the plan. Feel sorry for that fanbase.

Not sure if I love the pick, certainly don't hate it. I haven't followed prospects real close the last two seasons, but they drafted an athletic guy that may not be invisible if he's not scoring and looks like he's built to handle the grind. If he has big time success at center at BC, it'll be viewed as a win imo.

I guess I give them credit for having a plan. Flyers management have literally bounced between both "rebuild" & "compete" the past 2-3 years with even the announcers last night commenting that they don't know what they want to do. It's embarrassing to be honest.

One of the things I heard yesterday is they think this may cause Kane and Toews to request trades (and the GM wants them to) which will be done with 50% retention. It really seems they are going full scorched earth plan.

I like this kids confidence. I'm rooting for him. If he doesn't pan out - we are in for a long decade ahead.

Lets hope he has a huge year at BC at CENTER.
