It's kinda funny/concerning/weird that Jason Spezza never misses an optional skate, and is the one speaking before Game 7, while our assistant captains are MIA.

They don't seem to care because they probably feel like it's just another year for them. They've got plenty of years left in the NHL. Spezza's playing his ass off because he knows he doesn't have a lot of time.

I just don't see any sort of urgency from those guys and it absolutely breaks my heart. Just play like you care and not just talk like you care.

The team and management has coddled them like rookies so far in their career. It hasn't worked. Show up and if not, I am hoping there are some consequences.

First thing I would do after July 1st and Marner gets his big fat bonus for doing absolutely shit all in the playoffs is trade him to Buffalo with additional assets to get Eichel. You can say a lot of things about Eichel but that dude has a desire to win and is stuck on a garbage team and he's not afraid of his own shadow.

We got an email sent to us with instructions. I just fired off that email as quickly as I could and the results were sent to my phone. I think all hospitals in the GTA got 50 tickets.

on paper, in terms of pure talent, this team is so much better than the Habs, even with out Muzzin and Tavares. I really hope the Leafs (and the media/fans) do not rationalize a loss tonight with these two guys being out of the lineup.

I don't want to deal with the nuclear level trolling if they choke against Montreal of all teams. I could stomach a loss to the Canes or the Jets, but the Habs would be more than a pie in the face.

Team replaced the two men that weren't coddling them, they know they can do whatever they feel like doing.
Two will seek greener pastures in 3 years and the other will cash in because of it in 4 years.

matthews has stepped up and honestly jsut think price got in Marner's head a bit. He started becoming to predicatable when not looking to shoot . Just looking for Matthews and became easy to defend.

Man I don’t like them right now but I don’t think it’s that Matthews and Marner don’t care, it’s that they just can’t get it done. Like you see Mitch in the penalty box after his stupid puck over glass penalty and he looks like he wants to cry, Matthews loses his soul when Kotkaniemi scores in OT.

It’s purely nerves and just a massive mental hurdle imo. That doesn’t absolve them of not showing up and if they move on from Marner should we lose I’m 100% on board. I just don’t think it’s entirely fair to say they don’t give a shit.
