I'm with you, I just want to win. I don't think the poster was being serious but I didn't bother to check history.

That said, the uneasiness among fans (and Andersen's former coach Boudreau) when it comes to Andersen, is that he'll play great until an elimination game and then crap the bed.

Some fans may worry that Andersen plays great in non-elimination games, then Keefe is tricked and anti-clutch Ander5en returns when he's needed to be clutch. If one were the superstitious type, I could see the fear there.

It's not a superstition thing as much as it's a tactical thing IMO. Andersen doesn't track point shots and deflections well which makes his defense play scared. You're screwed if you try block the shot and you're screwed if you try to leave the lane open so he can see. With the Habs not really able to penetrate deep on the cycle, I'd be worried about having Andersen deal with a Weber/Petry shooting gallery, especially with Perry in the crease.

It gets worse in elimination games when the defense is already playing tense and they have to worry about Andersen letting a 4th liner score a floater from the blue line on top of that. Think about the point shots Andersen has had to face in every one of those elimination games: Ovechkin, Carlson, Chara, Krug, Jones, Werenski. If we were up against a team with Rielly as their main point presence I'd be a lot less worried about playing him in a few games.

Yes, 3 games in 4 nights is tough. It's asking a lot from a goalie that hasn't done it much before. I get that. But at the same time, you have to go with the hot hand. You have very limited time in the playoffs. Quite frankly, Andersen looked very shaky in that last game against Ottawa. Can't afford pissing away playoff games.
Its also tough for them opponent fools. They not hard, they softer than esus. We have the personel, money and the power. Y'all see sire. Nezow they are probably missing evans, staal and that otha sucka... who was it. Lehkonen. Them fools is needed, that other team is gittin tired. Y'all better recognize.

Well, we did take off the entire 3rd period... so we should be fresh!? Problem is that we made Jack work his ass off in that period.

Floaters from the point against Andersen still give me nightmares, lol

Evans is the Habs 2nd best forward?!

Habs have it in tough because the team sucks, no superstar forwards, no scoring, aging & rapidly declining vets, undisciplined players, and a horrific dumb-as-a-rock stubborn coach and stupid GM. In fact, they did NOT belong in the playoffs - neither last year, nor this year. It's pathetic how this pandemic got the Habs in the playoffs both years.

Also, Tavares is actually a HUGE loss for the Leafs.
But Evans? :biglaugh:
I don't even know who Evans is.

Would like to see Mikheyev get more engaged. He hasn't really used his speed at all through 3 games.

He's been very good with his speed and cutting off lanes, but it hasn't translated to direct opportunities, just sustained pressure and good defensive play.

Let's f***in go boys, time to put this one out of reach. Habs depth will do well here, so we need ours to step up to the plate as well.

Fortunately, the Habs depth is really good at skating the puck into the zone and then losing it in the corners, so I think we can feel good about this one. They can't keep up with our pace, just gotta keep the foot on the gas and play our game. The chances will come, convert on them when we get them and minimize our own breakdowns.

thought mikayev has been okay, but you’re right could ramp it up a bit more.

wonder if Hymen is still feeling some effects from that knee on knee injury, or just isn’t back to full game shape.

definitely looks a little off, for sure too

Even if andersen wins and shuts them out like a motha, Jack Cecampbell is playing the dirty fifth game sire. I can assure you. So don't you worry bout a damn thang like them bone thugs sang back in the days. We also have all of them goalies now, with rittich lurking in the pushes too sire. We ain't have nothing to worry about. We that hard. :thumb:
Quoted by the senor......i shall treasure this post.

I really like how Matthews has been playing so far in this series. He's been very physically engaged, almost pesting the opposition at times, and having fun with it. He's played well, but I feel like he's going to have a breakout offensive game at some point. Let's hope that's tonight.

Please tell me, for my sanity, that we're riding Campbell.

Keefe said last night that it will all depend on how Campbell feels in the morning.

So the decision will be Campbell’s more or less and I doubt he’s going to want to come out of the net.

If Andersen starts, and gets a 40 save shutout the Leafs are up 3-1...

I am not sure I see the issue with this? Does it matter who the starter is as long as they are leading the team to wins? I would think it would be a great problem to have.

It would seem the subtleties of a tongue in cheek remark are lost in a place where logic is often completely absent.

I will be sure to use the :sarcasm: in future.

I guess they figure they're doing okay without him. Maybe they rest him if they keep winning hoping he gets a break until round 2.

I didn’t think he would play tonight. Whatever was bothering him that he couldn’t play yesterday wasn’t going to make him good to play the next day.
