Tonight is huge. Some serious momentum could be picked up tonight.

Don't let the French back in! They've weak backbones and it needs to be exploited. If Leafs go ahead some dirty antics will come out.

Big effort required, relentless pressure and intensity. Go hard early. Montreal put a big shift in 3rd period last night. Let's exploit that.

Crush them.

just heard on Leafs Lunch that this current core group is 0-7 when given the opportunity to close out a series or extend a series lead. So.....

Classic Petrillo and I'm assuming Button bringing up completely useless stats that have no effect whatsoever on this current season. God Leafs Lunch is terrible.

I'm worried Andersen may post a 4o save shut out and steal Jack's job.
Even if andersen wins and shuts them out like a motha, Jack Cecampbell is playing the dirty fifth game sire. I can assure you. So don't you worry bout a damn thang like them bone thugs sang back in the days. We also have all of them goalies now, with rittich lurking in the pushes too sire. We ain't have nothing to worry about. We that hard. :thumb:

1 goal, 0 assists and -1 in 3 games. I'm not sure there are many more notches for him to be taken down by.
Also eh uh, he (anderson) didn't score in 11 games before that stint sire. So we is not worried at all bout these dorks. We have the money, power and personel nowadays sire. THEY DO NOT. We GOT THE PAPER!! STill gittin bags! WHAT!!!!

I'm actually fine with playing Andersen tonight. Give Campbell a bit of rest as to not aggravate anything. This team is better than the Habs and if they can't beat them with Andersen in net we have bigger problems (this ofcourse is under the assumption we don't experience 5 nights (goals) with Freddy).

That's a pretty big assumption ;)

Evans is the Habs 2nd best forward?!

Habs have it in tough because the team sucks, no superstar forwards, no scoring, aging & rapidly declining vets, undisciplined players, and a horrific dumb-as-a-rock stubborn coach and stupid GM. In fact, they did NOT belong in the playoffs - neither last year, nor this year. It's pathetic how this pandemic got the Habs in the playoffs both years.

Also, Tavares is actually a HUGE loss for the Leafs.
But Evans? :biglaugh:

I've pretty much watched every Leaf game against the Habs. I don't know recall this guy playing.

I think this game will determine what kind of leafs team we have. The kind that puts their foot on the gas to take a commanding lead. Or the kind that doesn’t give a shit and is willing to let an inferior team get back into the competition.

Guess we’ll find out if we’re the hare in the Tortoise and the Hare?

If Andersen starts, and gets a 40 save shutout the Leafs are up 3-1...

I am not sure I see the issue with this? Does it matter who the starter is as long as they are leading the team to wins? I would think it would be a great problem to have.

The issue is that most Leaf fans don't trust Andersen in the least, especially the playoffs. He has a knack for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. In a tie game or the Leafs up or down by one goal he will never make the big save. In other words, a choker.

I'm with you, I just want to win. I don't think the poster was being serious but I didn't bother to check history.

That said, the uneasiness among fans (and Andersen's former coach Boudreau) when it comes to Andersen, is that he'll play great until an elimination game and then crap the bed.

Some fans may worry that Andersen plays great in non-elimination games, then Keefe is tricked and anti-clutch Ander5en returns when he's needed to be clutch. If one were the superstitious type, I could see the fear there.

Yes, 3 games in 4 nights is tough. It's asking a lot from a goalie that hasn't done it much before. I get that. But at the same time, you have to go with the hot hand. You have very limited time in the playoffs. Quite frankly, Andersen looked very shaky in that last game against Ottawa. Can't afford pissing away playoff games.

I don't mind Andersen during the regular season, but come playoff time, look out. The pressure gets to him. Mentally weak

100% agree. But the OP said Andersen gets a 40 save shutout... I was responding directly to that.

If Captain Jack is healthy, he should be in the net. If he is not, I hope to hell we bring our best defensive effort of the season.

If Fred were to play in this game, regardless of the outcome, I do not see any scenario where Jack is not starting Game 5.
