While I agree they didn’t do their due diligence with Foligno’s health (pretty sure he didn’t get this injury playing with us), I’m willing to see how it plays out. If leafs lose first round and foligno doesn’t play, it will look terrible

Yeah I agree. I wonder how the heck this trade happened for a 1st if he was already injured. So far it's a disaster.

I hate that Hall is working out perfectly for Boston, and the Bruins still have a 1st.

All in all, the main thing we have over the Habs are Matthews, Marner and Nylander. They’re better than any forward the Habs have. Regardless of lineup, those 3 have the ability to just take over games with a few game breaking shifts.

So Thornton or Nash out unless there's another injury somewhere, hopefully Brooks plays with Spezza they have good chemistry.

As for the D that is out, i mean Holl or Bogo since he just got back? Can't take Sandin out he's played great.

Either way some fresh legs on back to back is a smart play, knew Campbell was going to play tonight as well, he's kept us in every game and matched prices remarkable performance last night as well.

First Leaf goalie in a VERY long time that I'm not freaking out everytime the opposition gains the zone.

Pucks on net, strike first, play like you want it.

And as always.

This is for J.T

If everyone is healthy in the backend this means Sandin comes out. There is no way they take a healthy Bogosian out. If they decide he needs a rest or maintenance, I understand, that might be the only reason. His presence in front and P.K work is vital in a game in which the Leafs want to go for the jugular.

Nash and Sandin feel like the obvious outs, maybe Gally, but we don't have a lot of offense with Foligno and Tavares our already

Maybe we roll with 11 forwards 7 defensemen?

Hyman - Matthews - Marner
Willie - Kerfoot/Matthews - Galch
Mikheyev - Kerfoot - Engvall
Brooks - Spezza - Simmonds

Rielly - Brodie
Muzz - Holl
Sandin - Bogo
Derm

With the goal of having the defense minimize Campbell's responsibility tonight?
On a back to back closing out 3 games in 4 nights?? I think our forward group has enough to deal with.

interesting.
I'd assume Nash is out. I know he came with the mantra "when he is on the ice nothing happens" but I legit have barely noticed him in the games he has played. to the point I forget he is playing.

as for D, maybe Bogo needs the night off...he just came back from a lengthy absence. I feel like Sandman has done well with his minutes. But who knows. I trust Keefer. Derm's is more than capable to step in for whoever is coming out

Thornton-Brooks-Spezza line was pretty good for us....

I guess Nash stays in probably Galchenyuk moves out

Hyman-Matthews-Marner
Engvall-Kerfoot-Nylander
Mikheyev-Nash-Simmonds
Thornton-Brooks-Spezza

:dunno:

Dermott in I would have to think means Sandin is to sit. Yes he's been good and a PP QB as many have said....but it hasn't much mattered. Our PP has still sputtered. Rielly has been great all series and should go back to the top line. Muzzin can handle PP2 as a big shot threat.
Brooks in SHOULD mean Thornton sits. But my gut tells me it's Nash who sits and they opt for offence. Which I'm ok with. Foligno is still not ready to go and Nash was the last minute plug in. Brooks likely gets that chance tonight. The good news? Brooks really made that fourth line work when he was between Thornton and Spezza. Was great chemistry there. My guess for tonight given what we know:

Hyman-Matthews-Marner
Galchenyuk-Kerfoot-Nylander
Mikheyev-Engvall-Simmonds
Thornton-Brooks-Spezza
Rielly-Brodie
Muzzin-Holl
Dermott-Bogosian

Book it.

What are the chances Keefe's replacing Mo with Dermot 2-nite? :sarcasm:
Far fetched but hey, there could be plenty of reasons i.e. shake things up, injury to Mo etc.!

I remember Keefe trying it in the regular season with mixed results. Not sure if he would go back to it, but the D do play a lot of minutes, it would keep them a little fresher, they were skating in mud by the end of the last game.
