Torts is just an obstacle, but there are many insidious alumni forces at work with the Flyers.

Happy to have him. Bottom out for 2 more years.

Given he has a chance to be the best Flyer of all time, this is pretty special. Add to that the time line and having several 1st and 2nds at least next year - we could be in a good spot.

I think we have 2 very good wingers, very good bottom 6 prospects. Still need a 1C and 1D. Draft BPA and make trades as needed.

just for shits and giggles..say they do somehow get him out of his contract over there..where does he play? can he go to the AHL? i would assume you want him over there at the very least one more year?

A lot of disappointment ahead with Flyers picks. History teaches this organization literally nothing.
One year ago russian hockey bosses took Fedotov and throw him to GULAG. But Flyers naivety goes beyond all bounds.

If Comcast doesn’t have a plan to keep Michkov in USA right now, you can say goodbye forever to this pick.

@Hollywood Cannon In your expert opinion of blouses, is it safe to go with a #39 Michkov? I had no desire to get a new Flyers jersey, but all of a sudden I need one! I can’t wait three years to see what number will be on his sleeves in one layer black.

He’s got talent, with a great ceiling. It’s a slam dunk pick as far as I am concerned.

I don’t think the Russia thing will be the biggest issue. His biggest obstacle will be John Tortorella.

Flyers should try to at least have one or two guys on the team to help him acclimate though - not doing so would be a little foolish imo. You have to extract everything you can put of this pick.

Rejoice Flyer fans! For once things went our way. This guy has clear potential to be a near 100 point scorer in his prime and the best player on a true contending team of all goes well.
 
Flyers are going to be terrible this coming season. Even more terrible than in the previous one. And 2024 top3 kids are probably at Fantilli/Carlson level if not better.
