I'll admit, I was one of the people who didn't want him. I was scared shitless over the possibility that they would be throwing this pick away, and the scenario of him getting Fedotov'd will be in the back of my mind constantly.

I do believe that he genuinely wants to be here, which obviously helps, but with his country being the way that it is right now... i'm still gonna be nervous as hell until he's on the ice in Philly.

If everything goes right, then this could potentially be the best draft pick the Flyers have ever made. There's that, at least.

Hadn't thought about the Torts-Michkov dynamic until reading this thread. The fact that he was drafted at all tells you who loses that showdown if and when it happens.

Given his post selection interview, it was very interesting to see that he looked extremely excited and said “I’m so happy the Flyers drafted me, playing in the NHL is my dream and I want to come over ASAP to win the Stanley Cup”. Who knows if it really will be 3 years or less
