@Hollywood Cannon In your expert opinion of blouses, is it safe to go with a #39 Michkov? I had no desire to get a new Flyers jersey, but all of a sudden I need one! I can’t wait three years to see what number will be on his sleeves in one layer black.
The only proper number to get for him in this version of a blouse is #23. Unless he somehow comes over this year, he’ll never wear an Adidas jersey on the ice since they’re switching to Fanatics next year and there will likely be slight changes.

I mean as the tweet says this was Sunday and they met with him Friday so…common sense says they’re not related.
i think he’s saying he met with them twice before the meeting everyone knew about.

The one time John Clark wasn’t stalking people at the airport.

Although it's probably just the professional thing for Michkov to say how excited he is about the team who just drafted him, it is still a relief to hear after all the bullshit about Michkov "wanting" to play for the Capitals.

Thought this too… that being said, he kind of said he really wanted to be a Flyer a lot… cool to hear

I guess the “one more time here” could mean the Skate Zone but I initially read it as being Nashville.

I find it hard to believe that he’d be staying in the area over a three day period though.

Technically speaking if it really is true that he wanted to be a Flyer than he could have tanked or refused interviews with other teams.

Did that happen? No clue.
It also sounded like in the interview immediately following the pick when asked how soon we would see him play in NA or in the NHL that he said (through his interpreter) "very soon, as it is my right" in classic Ivan Drago-type style. Did I mishear that or did he say that? That was even more encouraging than anything else I heard.

Side note that, that interpreter had a serious Murray Bauman from Stranger Things vibe.

Philly is the place where you can come and go to a lot of places easily.

Or maybe he did it to convince them.

That report on Danny B shutting down Vorhees...

I had ice time on Sunday night that was cancelled at like 1pm or something, I was upset because I was dying to skate. The rumor was that the building lost power and the ice wasn't right.

So, I had two games yesterday, the ice was absolutely perfect FWIW.

Footage of Holmgren and Clarke sent to Russia to extract Michkov...

The Flyers are still a good team to play with despite all their screw ups.

Far worse teams to be drafted by. Being stuck in Winnipeg... eh... no thanks.

In 3 years, when he's here, and we have a real, progressive coach, it's gonna be a real fun f***ing time watching the Flyers actually being good.
He's safer in Russia, than in Philadelphia (and being tainted by Torts)

Crazy world.

I mean a superstar player that wants to be here. That’s amazing. It’s the Flyers so we will see how things go, but you can tell he loved being picked by the Flyers
Feels like the start of a new era. New jersey, new (potential) franchise player, new GM.

Listening to Montreal TSN radio this morning was a four-course meal of deliciousness. The moment I tuned in, the main guy was comparing Michkov's preference to the Flyers as similar to Jagr's tipping the Penguins that he would only go to them. There was much gnashing of teeth that the Habs didn't pick Michkov. Scott Wheeler (Athletic) was on to give a perspective on drafting Reinbacher and he had good things to say about him but described Michkov as a future 1st line driver who will put up 80-100 points in his prime and that this is what Gorton and the Habs will have to live with. Wheeler did allude to some shade about Michkov forcing his way onto Sochi to put up points and yelling at his coach to give him more ice time.

But, man, hearing the garment rending over the guy the Flyers drafted was a kitchenful of chefs' kisses.
