I think it's known that I lean towards the pessimistic side with all things Flyers Management and Flyers Luck, but there is no need to be upset with anything about Michkov yet. Not remotely. Buckle up. Strap in. Soften your foreheads. Consume the soft meat.
I'd say there's an issue if things don't change by the end of the month. Either more consistent icetime or a loan

lol @ at the evil political Russia is teaching Michkov a lesson posts. Yall watch too much Rocky IV.

Officially loaned to Sochi because SKA doesn't wanna mess up his development.

Crappy google translation of SKA's press release.
Matvey Michkov will continue the season in Sochi on loan. I think this is the right decision - Matvey has his whole career ahead of him, he now needs to play a lot with men, to toughen up. In Sochi he will have such an opportunity. We talked a lot with Matvey and came to a mutual decision that this is the best option for his career. Michkov is a player of the first or second line, first or second majority. We do not want to marinate Matvey in the reserves, we wish him maximum progress, we will closely monitor his play and at the first opportunity we will be glad to see him in St. Petersburg. See you on the ice

Meh he will always be on a short leash to remind him where his loyalties should lie. Russia isn't evil but Putin and his apparatchiks are no benign absolutists...

i don’t really think there’s some grand conspiracy here. I think it’s pretty typical hockey politics involved really not that much different than situations here. The coach didn’t like the player & that was that.

Probably but I think the league's policy with Russians drafted by North American teams is to temper their egos some. Maybe Mitchkov needs it anyway. We'll see how he is treated going forward and if we see a trend...

Complete nonsense.
