Move over Shane Wright, Matvei Michkov is Grant McCagg’s new obsession.
he says hes watching demidov and not matvei, but theres no mention of Demidov in any of his posts until this month when michkov and demidov played together. in a few weeks he'll be trying to play it of like demidov was his guy the whole time.

he also said dylan strome was a better player and prospect than connor mcdaughter

the article is about a fans comment on twitter. Not trusting anything coming out of Russia. if im Fedotov and I just got abducted and put in the Gulag for a year, i'm not saying anything to piss off anyone in Russia.

This has nothing to do with Russian media. It's about fools on twitter not knowing what's going on.

And Fedotov didn't sign with Philadelphia to escape conscription. That's just dumb.
He wanted to be a Flyer and try his hand at the NHL, but now he doesn't because he understands perfectly that, after a year of stagnation, he'd be riding buses in the AHL if he went to North America.

It has everything to do with Russian Media...all we are seeing coming out now is slanted information either way. I didn't say he didn't sign with philly to escape conscription...i said he just served a year after being abducted.

Not quite sure unless you have conversations with Fedotov about that...im sure his dream ws to play in the NHL. If he came over im sure he'd get some looks.

Who knows what happens with Hart and Hockey Canada - but if he's cleared, he's likely gonna get traded at some point this year or next. Then Ersson is a rookie goalie that will likely play a lot in the AHL. He could certainly get an opportunity if he wanted it.

What slanted media information? In fact the current topic has little to do with Philadelphia anymore.

This entire shitstorm has evolved into a KHL vs Russian Ice Hockey Federation/IIHF tug of war.

Media is just reporting what is occurring and what fedotov, himself, is saying.

Rotenberg very complimentary of Michkov's adaptation to center so far. Hopefully this quells some of the questions about Michkov's minutes in the latest pre-season tournament.

Roman Rotenberg spoke about the game of Matvey Michkov in the center of the attack.

- And about Michkov's game in the center.

- Michkov fit perfectly into the central position and has a playful mindset, won a lot of face-offs. It's great for us when there are many options - to play Michkov in the center or from the edge.

If you remember the Canadian team in Sochi, they had 15 center forwards. Why? Because the center can play everywhere. Hockey is a universal game, and our game system is universal, it requires game thinking.

We all play in any position, there is no division into defenders and attackers. There is player number one, two, three, four, five. Five in attack, five in defense. Sounds simple, but very difficult to do. There are a lot of details, and this requires a serious attitude of each player to the training process, mutual understanding, interchangeability.

When I suggested that Michkov play in the center, he said: “Yes, this is generally my dream!” - said SKA head coach Roman Rotenberg

Michkov is 18, playing in a man's league that is notoriously conservative.

He's too good not to play, but it wouldn't be surprising if he gradually works his way into a first line role as the season proceeds, at some point his talent will force his HC (who needs to win, KHL isn't a development league) to play him big minutes.

From the Flyers' perspective, patience is a virtue, they'd like to see him develop at center, both offensively and defensively, and be a polished product when he comes over.
