Jagr and Lindros are good precedents

Some of those translations in the article are very weird. What the hell is the blizzard supposed to mean? Is it talking about chaos? Smokescreens?

There is Russian idiom that is literally translated "to carry blizzard". Of course nobody carries blizzards in Russia. It's just... well, an idiom and it means talking nonsense, bollocks etc.

Carry in Russian slang means say, talk. Often in emotional or even negative manner.

Что за хуйню он несет? - Wtf he's carrying on? (literal translation) - Wtf he's talking about? (Actual meaning).

I haven’t seen one player use the Michigan so much. Sounds like he did it in big moment and he looks like he’s near 100% in pulling it off in drills. That could be a huge weapon that makes people have to respect it. Should leave guys like Cutter wide open to have more time and score.

Considering Hurts is the QB, they probably should. That's why they signed two RBs this off-season. That's where their advantage is, and it opens everything up for D. Smith, AJ and Goedert. The Eagles plan A is play physical and control the clock.

Also, advocating for guys to play physical and up on their skates still wins. I'm not asking for a return of Jody Shelly. I just want size, speed and skill with some edge to them. This team has acquired nothing but empty vessels for years.
If I may, Process, this request is itself pretty empty because it is what all 32 teams want and should want, and the players who check these 3+ (I'll subclassify edge for convenience sake) boxes are in all likelihood gone by pick 5. The real dilemma is how to prioritize them to get the best players with 2 of these 3 traits as plusses.

Guys.. this is a bit ridiculous. Is there a single team in the NHL who wouldn't want their new franchise player to come earlier than 3 years? Chicago pulled the tank of all tanks, and they just traded for Taylor Hall to play with their new superstar. The other thing is that maybe they want to play Michkov with TK somehow, and on the PP with Sanheim, so that he can boost both of their trade values to all time highs, and acquire more assets than they ever would have by tanking. You still have to win the damn lottery to get the generational guy, if there even is one. In half the drafts, the 1st overall guy doesn't even end up being the best player. If TK scores 100 points in his 27 y/o season you could sell him for a god damn haul
Yeah, top 3-5 draft position suckage for 3 more seasons would be insanely great. The team that covered up the rape of minors just traded for a great player to play with Bedard, as you said. If you do it the Flyers' way, you won't have to trade anyone at all. It'll just be celebrini

Oh for sure, since we have such an in-depth character analysis of Michkov.

He has never performed an in-depth character analysis when proclaiming that highly skilled offensive abilities like those employed by Michkov to great success are bad for the game. Yet he's proclaimed it. It is what he believes. It is what he has said. His treatment/preference of players confirms what he's said.

If he gets his hands on Michkov, he will try to coach the skill out of him. Destroy the things that made him special to begin with.

I'm not even sure it's Jaskin--that was just that blogger's speculation of a St Petersburg crossover with Whitney. Michkov played most of his season with Sochi, so it could be a guy from there. Sochi was actually one of the final stops in Whitney's career, though not sure there would be any players there today who were there in 2015.

Yeh, no-one is left at Sochi from Whitney's time there.

Also... Jaskin never played with Whitney anywhere... no idea where the writer came up with the idea they did. Jaskin was only in St. Louis until 2017-18 and Whitney never played for the Blues and his career was long over by time Jaskin went elsewhere (Caps and Coyotes... who Whitney also never played for!)

Buuuut Bissonette played 2 seasons with Brandon Gormley in Arizona... who played all year with Michkov in Sochi... and also played with Valentin Zykov for a year who is at SKA.

And watching the piece (reluctantly, jeez they just keep getting worse lmao, used to be at least some decent content) where they talked about Michkov... Bissonette started bringing up potential concerns.

Albeit both Whitney and Bissonette said they loved the pick, and Bissonette says he makes it like him more and loves him and will follow him closely.

If not Gormley or Zykov? My guess would be Alex Grant and Joe Morrow...

There were lots of things swirling a few weeks ago when Mathias Brunet from La Presse wrote a hit job on him... ofc Montreal media... after the draft...

But before the draft? TVA (also Montreal media) Anthony Martineau went and spoke to both team-mate Dmitri Zavgorodniy (who played in the Q) as well as Canadian SKA assistant coach/development coach Dan Bochner (Canadian who lives and coaches in Russia).

Both said really good things about him... Zavgorodniy for example (and can see from what he says why some veteran guys might not like him!):

“He is extremely competitive, continues the HC Sochi player. He devotes countless hours to improving his game. He constantly wants to find new ways to stand out. In a few years, thanks to his work, we will be able to say that he is the perfect hockey player.

“Well, sometimes he is expressive (laughs). He’s a very good guy, but there were some nights when, at the start of his stay with us, his emotions took over. During certain games where we lost, he would get up in the locker room and give motivational speeches filled with rage and intensity.

I remind you that he was only 18 years old and that he was then surrounded by veterans! He meant well, but he learned over the year to do it… the right way (laughs)! “Guys came to understand that everything he did was for the good of the team and related to his love of the game. And everyone took in that he just had a lot of leadership in him. Off the ice, he is very calm and very funny and we really appreciated him."

I don't think we are going to see anything with Michkov this year, but the news with Fedotov is certainly going to be fueling even more speculation.

imagine he comes over and tries a michigan in his first team practise.. Torts would jump the f***ing boards

If you are far more talented then the people you are playing with, I think it's a benefit if you don't listen.
