If he's 18 now, won't he still be 21 when he's eligible to sign his ELC? Isn't that a 3-year term?ELC length is determined by signing age. It will be 1 or 2 years.

*Flyers pick a RHD at 22*
“Nooooo always draft BPA!!!”
*rankings spit out two back to back goalies*
“Nooooo we need to consider organization need!!!”
A lot of disappointment ahead with Flyers picks. History teaches this organization literally nothing.
One year ago russian hockey bosses took Fedotov and throw him to GULAG. But Flyers naivety goes beyond all bounds.
If Comcast doesn’t have a plan to keep Michkov in USA right now, you can say goodbye forever to this pick.
coots is not a 1c on a cup team. You can get a 1C outside of the top 3 (Couturier) or even outside of the lottery (Giroux), but that would require actually making smart upside picks instead of randomly requiring a D and two f***ing goalies.
You’re going to fail if you don’t even f***ing try.
The Flyers are still FAAAAAR from a smart team and this “rebuild” isn’t going to go well if they don’t get some insane luck.
Yeah, sure, I guess. It’s just funny to see “always pick BPA” turn into “we should consider organizational need” when it’s convenient. The reality is that we’re just bitter that they had a different BPA — and that’s fine!!You can believe in always going BPA, while not agreeing with their BPA. The latter is subjective; the former is an objective philosophy. If it’s a goalie in the 2nd and 3rd, so be it. I don’t think you’ll find as much disagreement as you’re making out. People here are pretty hardline about it.
We don’t know who they had as BPA. But if they did take a defenseman because of a run (Briere hinted at it), or a goalie, it’s not a good thing. Chuck Fletcher admitted on a podcast they took a goalie they had rated below Kaprizov (with Flahr there too) because of a goalie run. We don’t have to assume competence from them and inane idiocy from us.
No one here knows jack shit about goalies. Openly. So, of course you’ll get eye rolls. Goalie draft value (and post-draft value) has plummeted over the years because “experts” aren’t so sure either. Right or wrong, you’ll always get a touch of skepticism about high value goalie picks relative to skaters.
He's got his own food delivery service FlahrDash...No chance he didn't place a separate GrubHub order for a cheesesteak or two for himself.
saying he wanted to be a flyer to me is a huge red flag. Shocked the flyers ignored that.Honestly, I’m more impressed by Michkov’s PR skills than anything right now. I thought he would be more of a flaky diva, but he’s been saying all the right things, and he seems to carry himself with both swagger and earnestness.

I was live-texting with a couple of my Habs-fans friends. I tried to be supportive when Reinbacher was drafted and they congratulated me on the Michkov pick. Goodness, that felt good!Especially joyous that Montreal was one of those teams. Their tears are particularly satisfying.
Has anyone in this entire thread actually suggested picking for need instead of BPA?
What if there was a dynamic Russian winger who didn't come over right after getting drafted who happens to be a UFA the same time Michkov is able to come over? Perhaps a player that a certain someone in our organization knows fairly well.I hope it’s Ovechkin.
I'm not up to speed on this one. Enlighten me?What if there was a dynamic Russian winger who didn't come over right after getting drafted who happens to be a UFA the same time Michkov is able to come over? Perhaps a player that a certain someone in our organization knows fairly well.

As a montreal fan, f*** the coming in piece. I am taking a shot to the jaw.
I feel like you mean Panarin but he wasn’t drafted so I’m not sure. What if there was a dynamic Russian winger who didn't come over right after getting drafted who happens to be a UFA the same time Michkov is able to come over? Think they're referring to Kaprizov maybe? Either way you can't rely on two players to win games, this team needs to start amassing talent.I feel like you mean Panarin but he wasn’t drafted so I’m not sure.
