The broadcast showed the play before Fortescue's hit - Fortescue and a UConn player got tangled up in front of one of the nets and were roughing each other up for 5-10 seconds. Play continued and they broke up, the UConn player went to the far boards to make a play and ended up on the ice. He got up and was skating across the ice to the bench and Fortescue pretended to not see him and skated through the UConn player's head.On the Fortescue penalty sometimes the viewer doesn't see what sets a player off. For instance someone giving him a really nasty and sneaky cheap shot that goes undetected and maybe even it happened a shift or a period before......and they know they did it and act like it's a joke.
When you see somewhat acting out usually there's a reason.
