FKA Roo Returns...Still A Contrarian Apparently
I'd let him stay at least 1-2 more years. Build that man strength as we've seen it's benefited Cullye greatly, and to a lesser extent Edstrom's ability to go with the pace.
Especially if BC wins a national title. He's also going to be a Hobey Baker finalist for sure. Not much more to accomplish at that level. At that point the logical step would be sign and play a season in Hartford. If he leads the league in scoring as a Freshman, it's going to be difficult to keep him in the NCAA for another season...
100 percent agree. Don't care how many points he scores but unless he absolutely hates playing college hockey at BC (which I doubt) let him stay another year after this. We should totally be done rushing prospects.I'd let him stay at least 1-2 more years. Agreed. As much as folks here have noted that he still has things to work on at that level such as D zone coverage, transitioning out of the d zone, and board work/strength, if he's determined by the voters to the best player in the NCAA as a rookie how can you not sign him and move him up?Especially if BC wins a national title. I meant after our season is over in June, not for him to come up ala CK for the playoffs, I think he definitely needs an offseason of training.Prospects in NCAA can sign a contract only after their college season ends. Technically it's possible he signs his ELC at the end of this season, and he could play a handful of games. His ELC would be slide eligible but there is serious value in him playing 10 games and burning a year.
As he won't be on the team long enough to accrue a pro-season, it would result in him being a 10.2(c) status player. That means he will be RFA in 2026, but he would not be eligible for an offer sheet. It gives the team all the leverage in SPC negotiations.
The Bruins did this with Charlie McAvoy for instance.
This scenario would also apply next year if he stays in college another year.

Gabe had a semi-breakaway 20 seconds into the game but was too tight to the goalie by the time he controlled the puck to really do much with it. He had a couple other decent chances to earn a point. They had 2 PPs and neither was very good.
Except for the 3 games in which Gabe didn't get a point, this might be the longest he has gone in a game without getting a point.Game has been pretty boring.
Cutter has 2 flukey goals, Leonard scored a nice goal, he’s pretty juiced up this game playing in his hometown with friends and family in attendance.
Made a defensive play and a pass to spring a 2 on 1 for Smith and Leonard.
