It’s got three speeds!
The fact that Ghost was hard to move is because the Flyers did a bang up job of tanking his value. That had nothing to do with Ghosts on-ice play more often than not.
They scratched him on multiple occasions when they shouldn't have and they misused him for the better part of the last 3 seasons.
This is why i'm not comfortable with the bolded excuse for why they had to pay such a steep price to move him. That was a self-inflicted wound that was festering for years.
Yeah no other teams would take a free 2nd and a serviceable player. Come on Fletch wanted Ghost off the team as fast as possible for questioning the shit job AV was doing. He got trigger happy and took the first deal that came along rather than maximizing his return or should I say minimizing his loss. And none of this means that any of them were interested in Ghost....even WITH incentive to take him.

I gave this a quick glace and was impressed to see no Flyers logos on there...sighIt's a good thing we went out and added two of these guys to get "better defensively".

I know you always have to include 2nd round picks with 40 point D men.As fast as possible?
He tried to move him last offseason with no takers
Link plus he had 3 years left
He tried to move him for free on waivers this year and there were no takers in season
When very few teams had cap space
He exposed him to Seattle and they said no.
And no team called Seattle and asked them to take him and they would trade for him
I wouldn't use Seattle as a reference for anything considering they took Carson Twarynski and totally screwed up that draft.
You are delusional if you think this was the 1st discussion with a team about Ghost.

I know you always have to include 2nd round picks with 40 point D men.
Maybe the problem isn't the player but the person doing the negotiating.

I mean we gave up Ghost a 2nd and 7th for nothing. This is a player that had 9 goals last year with chaotic playing time and if he stays healthy this year will get his 40+ points. I can't see how his valued could have gone down any further.
I guess by your logic Braun has no value cause you know teams didn't approach Seattle about trading for him. Guess we would have to include a 1st to move himLike I said, you are delusional

If defense matters why the F!@#$%ng hell did we trade for Rasmus?Yandle is as good offensively and took a minimum wage deal, Gus is actually better offensively.
Maybe defense matters?

gus ain't better than anyone dude wtf lmaoYandle is as good offensively and took a minimum wage deal, Gus is actually better offensively.

but even if he does it will be because he only has 1 year left in his deal. We never could've gotten that with his current contract and his current production. I love ghost but lets just move on lol.If defense matters why the F!@#$%ng hell did we trade for Rasmus?
I will say it again Ghost will be traded for at minimum a 2nd within 1 year.

A blind man can see the problem is with the player. Ghost has zero value and will be out of the league when his contract expires.
How can 1 less year mean the difference between adding a 2nd and getting a 2nd?but even if he does it will be because he only has 1 year left in his deal. We never could've gotten that with his current contract and his current production. I love ghost but lets just move on lol.
Using the 17-18 season is disingenuous as he was hurt for 2 years. He was tied for 6th in goals for defensemen last year in 41 games played. He was jerked around all over the lineup and press box and wasn't used on the PP properly until at the earliest 1/2 way through the season. That’s a heck of a guarantee considering he hasn’t hit 40 points since 17-18, and Arizona aren’t likely to be a good/high scoring team.
The fact that he has watched Risto for multiple seasons, seen him suck, and went ahead with a massive overpayment to make it happen is not that surprising when you remember this koala-brained creature once traded Burns for Setoguchi.
What an eye for talent.
Not saying he's on the same level but Chychrun got over 40 last year.I’m not sure the top forward on Arizona will hit 40 points. They’re blatantly tanking. Ghost should help with that obviously.
