Seemed pretty apparent in Fletcher's interview on Myrtetus' podcast today that Frost won't be starting the season in the NHL. As I expected, considering he's played 4 periods of hockey in the last 18 months.

The narrative that they won't play youth is flat-out incorrect. They've played a lot of young players in recent years.

Hell, one of Fletcher's first moves as a GM was to call up Carter Hart at age 20. Joel Farabee is entering his 3rd season at age 21.

Frost is simply a case of a kid who is coming off of major surgery and has barely played hockey in a year-and-a-half. It makes sense to ease him back in.

Problem is waivers, NAK won't clear, Bunnaman probably wouldn't clear, Morin is also a good bet to get claimed.

Anyone who is wavier exempt will most likely start in AHL. That’s the mo of the coach and gm.

Every player is different. If they like a player enough, he'll be on the team aged 19 or 20 like Hart and Farabee were.

I'm going to go Pollyanna and say there is some hope, but not very much of it. A top 4 of Provorov - Ellis and Sanheim - Manson would have been something to get excited about.

Patrick and Myers were on second contracts so no they were not waiver exempt. Frost was the 13th forward because the AHL season was delayed. So Farabee.

Unless someone gets hurt in camp, they won't have any this year.

He’d have to dominate in preseason, & I don’t see that happening coming off shoulder surgery & 4 periods of hockey in 18 months.
