From the media and fans? Don't think he much cares................and frankly, that's a very very good quality for a GM to have.
Please give me a few seconds to finish typing (editing) please :)

The league is so competitive, I wonder if he can survive with that ethos (100%)

So I was listening to NHL radio on SiriusXM on the way home yesterday, and they had Dave Nonis on.........he said that the best GMs out there never listen to fans, media or even their own head coaches at times. Said that they always have to keep their plans in mind and only deviate from them if it is clearly in the franchise's best interest.

Adams will survive for as long as this team is improving..........and then for as long as the team remains competitive.

Fabbro only fits if they sour on Jokiharju AND are okay with benching Boosh (who can't play on his left side).
I don't think it's got anything to do with Jokiharju. Having a few RHD who can play top 4 minutes is what we'd want, even if it means Jokiharju or Fabbro is on the 3rd pairing.

I'm good with Lyubushkin as the 7D.

I don't like any of the D-men after Jokiharju. AFAIC we don't have a legit 3rd pair at all, and only Clague and Lyubushkin are even worthy of a 7th spot. The only worthy internal option is Johnson signing, which we have to wait on even if KA has any info on him. I've been posting about various trade ideas the last month or two, but I really don't expect a significant trade. If Johnson signs I figure KA is standing pat with Lyubushkin as his partner, and will only try to improve upon that once his deal expires. Maybe if Johnson isn't that good early on or needs time in Rochester there will be another move. As obvious as the need is, I just don't expect much for now.

Adams is sticking with his process.

This is so unfair to Samuelsson, Dahlin and Power. It's really a lazy manager leaving others to deal with his shortcomings.
It's ok to play our defensemen a lot some nights, it's not ok to be forced to every night.

I'm frustrated because it's like we always have so extreme GMs. You are not blocking anyone by getting one orctwo competebt defensemen.

Means someone like Ekholm is out of the picture.
If they miss the playoffs (by a few points) because of stubbornness he will have hell to pay
not from anyone that matters to the organization

the world today, theres only 1 way to do anything and anyone that deviates from that 1 way is clearly wrong

shockingly, there's actually many ways to be successful as a GM, which is why after every cup winner 1/3 of the league goes into copycat mode, because every year a team built differently wins

lets say 100% you are right and they miss the playoffs by 3 points but ryan johnson signs because they have a regular lineup spot for him and he ends up playing 22mins a night for the Sabres for a cup run, then that ethos and that stubburnness becomes legendary and gets written on a statue

here, despite the million possibilities between now and whenever in the future, if KA doesnt do exactly what some posters want you get this

Let me slightly rephrase the post you quoted:

"No fringe playoff team trades unprotected first rounders anymore. Why are Sabres fans, whose team is the very definition of a fringe playoff team, so willing to put them into proposals?"
Florida definitely didn't think that their moves would disrupt chemistry so bad to drop them out of the playoffs the following season

In what way? Dante Fabbro is the same age as Chychrun. Fabbro was selected one pick after Chychrun in the 2016 draft.
Adams wants to let the group grow and not block a player. Trading Chychrun would cost a lot and deviate from the “stay the course” plan. Fabbro doesn’t even cost half what its take to acquire Chychrun.

I do not believe there are moves out there that really change the TOI for Dahlin, Samuelsson, and Power.

Dahlin is playing in the same range as Makar, Doughty, and Chabot. I do not believe that anyone is saying that Ottawa is hurting Chabot or Colorado is hurting Makar by playing them as much as they are.

Samuelsson is 42nd in TOI/GP and is playing as much as guys like Pesce and Slavin are for Carolina.

Power is 23rd and leads all rookies in TOI/GP. He is playing 3 minutes-ish more per game than Sanderson and Guhle. But, I do not know that it is really hurting his development. I think the issue is more about getting him a better partner than getting better 3rd pairing guys to shift his PK and a bit of ES TOI to that pair.

I do not see any moves on D that block a prospect. The challenge with Chychrun is less about blocking guys and more about the sky high asking price that the Yotes have and that every other GM around the league has said is too rich for their blood.

I also think that there are serious questions about Chychrun and the fit here because he is built in the Dahlin/Power mold and Adams may want more of a Samuelsson type if they are to add someone.

That is why the Ekholm idea makes more sense to me from a Sabres POV.

I think Chychrun is off the table because of Adams' desire to stay the course, not block anyone. Someone like Fabbro doesn't take the Sabres off track. Chychrun's cost might.

Ekholm is my perfect add, but it'll hurt a bit.
