Johnson could be controversial too, especially at the time. Kochetkov and Pinto left after that.Wonder if any of our scouts had Robertson over Marcus f***ing Davidsson

And yet they did last year.He played most of his minutes with Mittelstadt and Olofsson
no one could survive it
Maybe it was an case? They can't find normal chemistry with anyone. And yet they did last year.
Did I miss something, or is it someone I'm already ignoring?I was not talking about you, but about a new overly active user.
I don't know who you're ignoring, but the guy said that Botterill was fine and Adams was lucky that Botterill left him a legacy. (sort of like that).Did I miss something, or is it someone I'm already ignoring?
Seattle seems to like himI would have said he is a mediocre GM.
He’s an assistant GM. To state the obvious, there is a big difference between running the show and being the top guy. It applies to coaching as well.Seattle seems to like him
We need roster space for Biro. What's your move?
Let's win tonight and move closer to DetroitHe’s an assistant GM. To state the obvious, there is a big difference between running the show and being the top guy. It applies to coaching as well.
That sounds kind of familiar. Everyone's got an opinion, I s'pose. As long as each post doesn't end with "Fight me!", I wouldn't have blocked that.I don't know who you're ignoring, but the guy said that Botterill was fine and Adams was lucky that Botterill left him a legacy. (sort of like that).
He's heavily insulated behind Francis in Seattle though, and he likely isn't calling "audibles" there.Seattle seems to like him
I can’t tell if you’re actually confused by this or just trolling.Yeah,
I like Skinner and Thompson.
Seattle doesn't seem unhappy right now.
Not sure why everyone here is so adamant on giving Adams credit for Thompson.
It seems kind of odd
Either way, we need to look forward
So you just throw out bullshit and run to the hills when called on it. Good to know.Let's win tonight and move closer to Detroit
I might take a look at Nick Perbix as Tampa will be up against the cap again and a 24yo 6'4 RHD could be useful

Well the initial post was who'd you offer sheet, I was throwing out a nameThey aren't moving Perbix. The time for that was last spring when he was UDFA.
This spring, Jake Livingstone or bust.
Perbix RFA, offer sheet maybe? (I know it doesn't usually happen.)They aren't moving Perbix. The time for that was last spring when he was UDFA.

Why only Livingstone? There will be dozens of options.

Well, I didn't just mean NCAA. Probably won't be easy to sign Livingstone.Because Livingstone is the best one?

Maybe in MinnesotaNot interested in if it is easy or not. He's the one to sign.
You're probably mis-remembering my post.
And I wasn't defending Botts or alleging that he was good, so much as knocking Adams down a peg.
I pointed out that Skinner, Tage, Samuelsson, Dahlin, Cozens are all Botts picks/acquisitions, not Adams. This is the Botts core, not the Adams core.
The Sabres are in a really terrible position to be offer sheeting other teams players.Perbix RFA, offer sheet maybe? (I know it doesn't usually happen.)

I'm actually going to call some BS here.
Thompson was on his ELC from 2017 summer of 2020.
He was traded in Summer of 2018.
18-19 - Prospect still. Prize of the RoR Trade. Not trading him.
19-20 - Out injured nearly entire season. Played 1 game in Buffalo and 16 in Rochester.
Adams was hired in Summer of 20. Pre NHL draft.
In what window would GMJB sell low on TT. It wasn't at the trade deadline because he was injured. It wasn't at the draft because it hadn't happened yet. Maybe GMJB wasn't going to qualify him and try to extract some value. But still, nobody was getting traded during the period between the season shutdown and the playoffs.
There is actually one time period that it makes some sense where a Sabres GM would take a low ball offer, and that was summer of 21 before the Kraken expansion draft. He was making 1.4M a season and on his way to bustsville. Buffalo didn't want to lose him for nothing if they didn't protect him. Maybe GMKA was looking to pick up another forward out there but didn't want to lose TT for nothing. Logically though, I can't see a period of time under JB it would have made sense for him to try to sell low on him.
I'm not saying this didn't happen, but I think the only time it would have made sense for a GM to sell low on him was GMKA and the Seattle expansion draft.

I know that offer sheet is not happening, but this is not my idea, it was discussed in this thread before. The Sabres are in a really terrible position to be offer sheeting other teams players.
With a very conservative salary structure and several extremely young stud players coming up on RFA off of their ELCs, the retribution would likely be so painful that it is probably best not even to contemplate![]()
