The Kings sent him through waivers as was right. Doesn't mean they hoped he would be taken.

Voynov and Muzzin were better. Hickey could have made this team eventually and been servicable.

That's how I read it, too. DL probably feels all the Manch guys have earned their shot and this is O'Neill's best.
