I doubt Ebert/Schultz will play at all, they are simply insurance should more injuries happen on this road trip.

That's not a trade you're smelling. Sorry, it was me.
Crack a window or something.
Cow's getting back at us for eating too much In-N-Out by destroying the planet!!!
I was looking at the cap for next year and how to get the upgrades the team needs to work with the cap. Pretty much the choice is between one of Lucic or Brown, then picking up a vet 3C and a D. Lucic is better then Brown, and it isn't even close. The team needs to transfer Brown's salary to the center position. So would could the Kings actually get with Brown? Lets face it there are a lot of replacement options for a 3rd line winger that doesn't score and isn't great at defense.
So some trade targets....
Jordan Staal: $6 AAV, signed long term bad contract/long... could the Kings swap bad contract?
Bolland: $5.5: Another bad contract, not as long as Brown's... been brought up before.
Dubinsky: $5.85: Lombardi's been fleecing CBJ for some time, so however unlikely you have to at least look at CBJ.
Bozak/Phanuef: Bozak is a little cheaper then most options around 4.2 and only signed for a couple years... saving a couple million there would allow the Kings to absorb Phanuef's cap hit.
Kesler: Lets face it.... this contract is as bad as Browns and his NTC doesn't kick in until the summer.
Thornton: Ok this isn't happening, and the Kings would have to find some way of dumping Browns contract.
Getzlaf: Ducks are going into full rebuild mode, or will be shortly. Getzlaf is struggling and signed long term, he'd fit in great behind Carter. AAV's probably still too high.
would deal Brown for JStaal in a heartbeat
guy is a machine on faceoffs last few years, hits a lot, and still has some offensive potential
relatively overpriced yes, but that'd be your 3C right there
ask why Carolina would make that deal? What would the kings have to add? Can we afford it?
Maybe they a re big on Forbort

I would immediately trade Brown+Forbort+any prospect not named Kempe for Jordan Staal.

No ****ing thank you to trading Kempe away. We've traded too much youth already, time to let a high end prospect like that break in. And I actually like J. Staal.
Mike Richards contract was way worse. Brown can still play hockey and keep up with the pace. He just can't score.
Trading Kempe to get rid of Brown would be as logical as trading Toffoli to get rid of Richards, which some delusional Leafs fans were expecting to happen, LOL.
I'd rather just go through a buyout process and sit on dead cap space with Brown than to give up a talent like Adrian Kempe.

brown > lucic, if cap is the only issue here. lak's chronic disease so far is developing bottom six. brown is, considering the metrics, the mvp for that task. best wowy, best dcorsi, he makes his linemates better, even andreoff or nolan. lucic is somehow replaceable, brown not so.
