Then you can take your time to actually read the Expressen link I mentioned in my replay to you, or watch the Red Wings on VCR.

Yeah, well, at least DRW has some stanley cup runs worth watching on VCR, as opposite to some other teams...

Sedins also played regular in the EHT, 18 games to Zetterbergs 20, so that shouldn´t be held against them...

Even if it was after the 2nd round, both Zetterberg and Franzén declined in 2010 when there was a big part of the WC left. Ericsson made the jump and played 7 out of 9 games. Both Franzén and Zetterberg where banged up after playing a load of ice hockey the three seasons before and didn´t accept the invitation. I get why they didn´t come, much like Sedin(s) now. Looking at his stats Zetterberg, even if injured from time to time, must have played amongst the most games since the beginning of the lockout.

I think there's a huge difference between declining well before the tournament and mid-tournament. 2010 was also an Olympic year and the players were fed up with BÃ…G. But good for Ericsson anyway.

I'm not even complaining about the Sedins if Vancouver stopped them. There's no club with more pressure than them right now. I truly believe that the Sedins really couldn't care less about the World Champs anymore, though. They have one goal and that is the Stanley Cup. If they have the chance to play next year and don't come, I think Sochi will be the last time they put on a National team jersey.

So this is were one end up when one - rather friendly too - corrects you that you were wrong in that the organisation said no to only Daniel. :shakehead:

I dont want to pick a fight. I just say to you and your canucks and the Sedins, better luck next year!

To be honest, DRW would need some better luck too (or better players rather).

I actually agree on that and add that I think you shouldn´t wait for players lesser than a Sundin/Forsberg/Lidström. Not even sure I want to wait for defencemen, as that part of the game is so much about chemistry. A star forward or two can be thrown in at musch greater ease. Build a coregroup from the beginning. Even if so, cred to Ericsson for coming - even if I think a player of his caliber ain´t "worth" waiting for. Don´t remember the circumstances, but would think they originally were holding that place for a bigger name (probably hoping on some other DRW... ).

I actually really don´t think will see them next year either. If Vancouver is an early exit there´s, as you say, to much pressure from that town not to go. It´s about showing the fans and management that they are first prioritee. Even Sundin, who no one ever questions (and no one should...), has declined WC because he "wanted" to stay in Toronto and clean up the mess. And not really arguing with you, just pointing out the dubbelstandard of it while I´m at it. Sedins are in the group of Lidström pre 2006, but he´s now forgiven, and Näslund. Guess one of Näslunds biggest regrets is taking that time off for healing that groin injury. But that was also the right thing to do in my opinion.

Stalberg-Johansson-Hagelin

Damn that would be interesting to see. Espacially on big ice.

The difference is other players mentioned actually won ****

Assuming you´re talking about Sedins, Olympic Gold is worth something in my eyes. They played there part there as good as anyone would have. Besides that you need help to win, so teamsuccess is not always the best way to measure a player - even if it ofcourse should be included.

 the guy has represented your country at every level hes played. He skips one meaningless tourny and people turn on him?

To be honest it's not the first time he's skiped it. Looking back at his NHL career so far he has represented Sweden once at the WC (not counting the lockout season) and that was way back in 2001 when he had played his first year in the NHL. And he has now been "available", when playing in the NHL, for the WC six times... so he has actually declined five times. He has in fact declined so many times that no one really expects him (or his brother) to play in the tournament anymore.

Team Sweden seems to be totally changed since last year. Glad to see that the epidemic-like declining is over for Sweden.

You'd think they were Forsberg with a scoring title and MVP award to their names..

Oh wait they have :sarcasm:

So many D's. :scared:
In four days we should know. Bring Stalberg in already!
If we could add four or five of Edler, Backstrom, MoJo, Kruger, Stalberg, Hjalmarsson, Oduya, Silfverberg, Hagelin, Stralman, Karlsson I'll be happy.

Prognosis, projections. Only players from teams with a lower chance than 50% is on the "depth chart" I created. No Hagelin etc.

MoJo or Oduya, probably Krüger, Stålberg and even Strålman would not be stars in SEL. Ericsson, Silfverberg, Järnkrok is. Pettersson's last half is good too. And for the position Lundqvist is quite good. Only fresh and good NHL:ers are of interrest. Persson, Andersson are proven.

I hope Henrik Sedin gets alot of rest. After all this resting, he'll just coast his way to the cup next year. Poor scrubs like Zetterberg, Franzén and Landeskog will be exhausted by playing this tournament. Last place, #1 overall-pick, anyone?

you dont want MoJo, Hagelin on the team? Are you serious?

Not if Ironhook has to go :p:

No but seriously, they'd make for a heck of a 3rd line. But I'm trying to count spots here and it's starting to get tight. Those two(Hagelin/Silfverberg counted as one), Stalberg and Kruger. Possibly Backstrom. Five guys to squeeze into an already stacked crop.

Eriksson, Landeskog, Zetterberg, Franzen are in. I already have Lundqvist and Pettersson(been great, checkers, pkers) locked in aswell. When was the last time Persson missed the WCHs? Dad of the team is in too. Ericsson supposedly(?) has a spot if healthy. So there's 8.

Would they take Kruger over Jarnkrok? I probably wouldn't. Would they take MoJo over Jarnkrok? I would. Washington might answer that question for Marts anyway. Hagelin/Silfverberg and Stalberg? Speed speed yes please.

So..
Landeskog-Zetterberg-Franzen
Eriksson-MoJo(Kruger)-Stalberg
Silfverberg(Hagelin)-Jarnkrok-Ericsson(Larsson)
Persson-Lundqvist-Pettersson
Backstrom(?)

Where do I sign?

Why are you not bashing Lidström? He has said no MANY times to play in the national team.

Also, didn't the Sedins say that they wanted to go but the Vancouver said no?

And the guy saying that the twins doesn't play with passion and heart, then you have not seen much of Vancouver playing. The way especially Henrik played in these playoffs was amazing and even the people who doubted him as a captain have changed their mind. The only ones who did actually show up these playoffs were Henrik and the Luongo/Schneider.

Very boring, this make me hate Vancouver even more.
I hope Sweden never cooperate with that club.
