Roster/Rumors/Speculation/Trade Talk - 2025-26: Welcome to the Darche Side

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
How dare you insult a large, physical defenceman with an impressive slapshot. Kudroc was the future of the blueline alongside what we drafted in later years with Mark Katic.

What a terrible time to be an Islanders fan that was...

I see what you did there.

Even worse...Milbury had picks 5, 8, and 10.

Have to believe that Lawrence is better than Connolly though.

Definitely worse and I agree on Lawrence, though I did really like Connolly at the time.

Rules for Darche this offseason...

  • Do NOT feel any pressure to keep up with the playoff/Cup contending teams that have added.
  • NO signing any UFA for more than 3 million/year or 2 years.
  • NO trading for any player over 27.
  • If you trade at all, be a SELLER.
  • Try to ADD more cap space, but do not pay another team to take any players
  • Try to ADD more picks in 26 and 27.
  • Whatever picks you do have this weekend, draft BEST PLAYER AVAILABLE at every one of them.

If no trades or signings are made and Darche just adheres to this list above, that's a successful offseason.

Also disappointing because of the roster Lou left us with, but sometimes doing nothing is the best thing.

It literally does not suck, but is a relief.

W. Eklund is a very flawed player with questionable intangibles/effort.

If we didn't have Victor you'd want nothing to do with him - Much less for the 9th overall pick (where someone like Lawrence or Bjorck is going to be drafted).
So you're saying we got the better Eklund? ;)

I got a proposal idea lemme throw it out there and get flamed immediately.

To Seattle:

Mat Barzal

To NYI:

Matty Beniers
Shane Wright
7th Overall

William Eklund (and two prospects) went for the 9th overall today.

Jordan Kyrou went for McMichael, a prospect, and the 16th overall.

Mat Barzal is superior to both Eklund and Kyrou imo, how's the value in my proposal?

I'd want another high pick but that's not terrible.
Seattle also has the 25th overall this year. Would you be alright in theory walking away on draft night with:

In:

Matty Beniers
Shane Wright
7th overall
25th overall
13th overall (our pick)

Out:

Mat Barzal

I think that's the kind of move that Darche should seriously consider. Youth movement up the ass.
