If they do sign O’Brien or Farinacci, I wonder where they fit in on the prospect watch? Are they stronger prospects than Dufour? Bolduc? Holmstrom?
Honestly, I don't think O'Brien (the most defensively aware of the three), Farinacci (the most pro-ready of the three), or Mastrosimone (the most skilled of the three) move the needle much on the prospect front in the sense of shaking the tree.
If you add one, you've got more organizational depth and are taking a shot at a former first rounder (who everyone felt went too soon) and two midrounders who performed like you wish of top 60 picks. I'd see any of the three as one of our top 6 or 7 options moving forward, but none of them would suddenly be a "bluechipper" in the system.
I do think that O'Brien has a lot of "late bloomer" potential in a Pageau-style role. That's MHO. Things went far too quick for him those first few years.
