This is a fact often ommited by those who praised wang for “saving” this franchise, while at the same time destroying it by not reinvesting in quality players from 2005-2015.

If we really want to thank someone for keeping the isles on Long Island it would be John Spano. He did more in his few months as an islanders owner to keep this team on LI than any other until Malkin and Ledecky.

And training season is about to start up can we move on from the disappointments of the off season and begin pulling for this team instead losing our shit and claiming the isles world is over before the first shift of the season.

Yeah, winning as many games as you can during the regular season and not struggling to make the playoffs. What a silly notion that one guy has. :shakehead

How I wish someone would start a wholly different thread for discussing anything that's in the past, like Snow, Wang, Tavares etc. so we could keep this thread on track.

I tried looking for the list of potential UFA college free agents in this thread that can sign tomorrow. Maybe it was posted in the prospect thread. Sorry if this has been discussed, anyone of possible interest for the Isles? There is that kid who is in Isles fan, O'Brien from the Flyers, Fanta...... from the Coyotes.

Yes, O'Brien, Farrinacci, and Mastrosimone (a Long Island native) are the big three.

I think Jake Wise could be picked up by someone. Kevin Wall could have a suitor or two.

Several others like Tychonick, Brind'A'mour, and Novak signed AHL deals this summer although I'm not certain why that was possible before AUG 15th.

but in a few weeks we should have the following
-trade to get cap compliant
-Parise status
-any possible injuries for camp

All offseasons are boring. This is when we go to the beach, hang out, play some golf, watch some baseball, get to know our wives and kids again.

If they announce all of the college UFA signings tomorrow but one guy who you would think would have signed is not included, then that's our guy.

Why do you expect a trade?

There is no cap issue - the 486k over is for a 24 man roster

If they do sign O’Brien or Farinacci, I wonder where they fit in on the prospect watch? Are they stronger prospects than Dufour? Bolduc? Holmstrom?
 
Maybe someone can dig up the top 5 PTO contracts in past decade bc there’s gonna be a bunch this offseason.
