Did anyone read the article in The Athletic re-drafting 2018? Wow..Hughes? Actually, I am surprised that the guy has Bouchard ahead of Dobson? I could kinda see Hughes only because of his offence, but Bouchard?

I would argue that Dobson would go above Hughes in a redraft. Give me the guy with a little less offense, but significantly better defensively, a right shot, and 6'4.

No GM would pick Bouchard above Dobson.

Pronman notoriously has never been high on Dobson’s “puck skills” which is why I think he’s giving the slight edge to Bouchard here.

Dobson is and will likely be the better all around defenseman and one that you win with long term, but Pronman is always about offense. Didn’t he have Kabanov like top ten in his draft year?

He’s doing the same thing with Luke Hughes over Power and to some extent Beniers.

It doesn’t usually work out for the creep who is obsessed with throwing stars and posts rankings from his mom’s basement.

His 4-way mobility is stiff and weak, he is a massive liability defensively and likely always will be. He's a PP specialist and a #3/#4 type. He is the same exact player now that he was in the OHL, his seemingly low motor is what bothers me most about him.

He can't hold Dobson's jock. It's why there is so much butthurt from a contingent of Oiler fans who cling to their hope that they didn't royally f*** up passing on Dobber.

I think Bouchard ain’t that bad, maybe closer to Carlson 2.0. And with two insano-brain-o stars he will put up points for a while.

He will get walked in the playoffs, but throwing star dude doesn’t take that into account.

Agreed. His footspeed is mediocre at best. In todays game you need to be atleast an average skater to be a top pairing defenseman. I also dont see the high end hockey IQ with Bouchard.

Dobson has excellent hockey IQ, is a great skater, makes get outlet passes and can carry the puck out of the zone. He jas all the traits you want out of a defenseman. The sky is the limit for him. When its all said and done i think the only defenseman from his class that may be ahead of him is Dahlin.
