They also don’t need a goalie lol
( this is fake)

I realize that I'm about to tread into dangerous waters, but Auston Matthews is a UFA after the 23-24 season....And there's been buzz about him NOT wanting to resign with the Leafs.

I don't care what the Leafs look like on paper going into the 2023 season....If he doesn't resign with them by opening night next October he must be traded.

Agreed. Learn from the Tavares fiasco. Also, talk about a ransom. Teams would pay an insane amount of assets for Mathews. Even if they’re only guaranteed one playoff run with him that’s a huge addition to a team. He’s arguably the best goal scorer in the NHL and definitely a top3 forward.

If the Leafs wait for next October other GMs will have them over a barrel. They should deal him now to be safe.

Interesting part is, for real, would or could this work?....could the organization get enough back to move forward and actually excel. Especially if one thinks as built, they can not. Is "he" , as good as he is, really the player that would make make the difference staying in Toronto? Would be a hell of a gamble.

How's it been man! Long time no chat! It's freaking pouring here, how about where you are? Good night for checking my fantasy league constantly and doing what I do best. Curse.

To your post, sounds like something the Isles might be facing with Barzal at some point no?

good...wet, windy, leaves and twigs about, past that, piece of cake :)

Barzal will not be an issue.

I would deal any player with less than 4 years left on their deal. This way you avoid the aggravation of worrying about dealing a player in their contract year.
I don't think the Isles should draft anybody unless they have agreement in writing that they'll sign an ELC, bridge deal, and 8 year extension at the appropriate time and if the team is inclined. Should be the first question they ask during draft interviews.

Please update the severe weather thread with your candid ( as always ) hurricane experience

You know I'm always shoveling something!

Wasn't terrible here. Came down hard with some wind gusts. Tapering off now. Glad I'm not out delivering food in the elements anymore

How ya been?
Finished Putting away the umbrellas from the yard furniture and making sure the gutters are clear . That’s ok for 11pm on a Friday right ? Wifey thinks I’m nuts on a ladder at night

Oh yeah lol going to lose game 1 and everyone is going right off the ledge 🤣
here we go , without starting a thread here is our first 10 game streatch 6 are at home. With all the additions to the squad , the new high powered attack ready to take no prisoners , and Josh Bailey rejuvenated and ready to care about the team like Ryan Smyth cared about Edmonton, this team is destined to bring home the prize. With all this I say we finish the first 10 games at 3 - 7.

H - Panthers. Loss
H - Ducks. win
H- -Sharks. win
H - Devils. loss
A - Lightning. Loss
A - Panthers. Loss
H - Rags
A - Hurricanes
H - Avalanche
A - Hawks

I see 4-6-0 in the first 10 games.

Fire everyone. Sell the team. :scared:

Start off 3-1 and everything is right in the world.

2 weeks later next year’s draft thread will be on fire.

Harry Potter style unbreakable vow otherwise the risk is still too great.

Wouldn't it be the pinnacle of irony if Matthews moves on and says the signing of Pajama Boy was the reason they couldn't get past the first round, and why he decided to move on, since he wanted the captaincy?

Then he can come here and teach us how to do all the things he learned in Ontario

Matthews wouldn't even have NYI on his short list.

- Split the Panthers games
- Win 3/4 against Ducks/Sharks/Devils/Hawks
- Split Lightning/Rags/Hurricanes/Avalanche

That's 6-4

If they can do that they can build off that...the goaltending is going to be the difference while the system sorts itself out.

Would never happen, but I'd love it.

Would also love if the Leafs lose Matthews in the exact same way the Isles lost Tavares.*

*To us of course
