2 out of 3 ain't bad. Chiarot sucks. Waste of money. They got Copp, Kubalik, and Chiarot today too. Not a bad haul

First thing he'll say "it's wasn't about the money...."Thought it was about family? Lol
Could be negotiating tactic to get the devils and isles to drive up their offers. Columbus is in their division hmmmmmm
I have no clue. who says they dont want to pay the price. I am just asking a question. When a team wants someone they will do what they have to do IMHO.That's correct, but if they can't move the salary out now because they don't want to pay the price, then why would the cost to move salary out when they absolutely have to be any less?
Both can be fully buried in the minorsNYI should be unloading him and Panik regardless.
Pierre Dorion had a really good week. Things are different without Eugene Melnyk around anymore.

only time will tell. I would not want to overpay just because someone else wants it more Etc

He'll be a decent enough regular season add I think. No?2 out of 3 ain't bad. Chiarot sucks. Waste of money.
Agreed. I think they just vaulted over the Devils in the league standings. Hell, I think they vaulted over the Canadiens as well.I thought Sens have been making excellent moves. Happy for their fans.

I'm scratching my head over you today. You've been the biggest advocate of spending to get that one top player. This one put up 129 points in 94 games, including 14 in 12 playoff games and you don't want to pay him like a Top 15 player? He LED the league in BOTH +/- and even strength points.
Remember the great movie Keeping the Faith? You think God is going to keep dropping opportunities like this every year? ROLL the DICE man, it's our best shot!
All of the reports are that the Flyers can't move JVR without attaching assets (like their first round pick next year) and that they don't want to do that. If they go above the cap getting Gaudreau they're losing all leverage in negotiating and would need to give more away to become cap compliant.
Can't see a scenario where they put themselves in a worse bind when they're already uncomfortable with the cost to move JVR.
Yeah I’m def about to head home and pour a bourbon one way or anotherHard to understand what's happening here. Almost time for a g&t which should make time for by a bit faster.
Have one for me!Hard to understand what's happening here. Almost time for a g&t which should make time for by a bit faster.
I never said they would or even could. I just mentioned teams make room if its something they want ETC
i sort of agree. these long term 10m deals are scaryDon't scratch your head. I believe very much in nuance which means I don't just say, "wE nEeD a grEat PlaYEr - sIgN AnyOnE!" Things are rarely black and white and I very much take details into account.
So in this case I would take Gaudreau, but don't want to just give him a black check. And it sucks we've reached this point, but I would've rather had Kane, Tarasenko, Miller, Forsberg, etc. Would rather "roll the dice" on those guys.
Im not sure how... they have $12M in cap space but assumedly have to sign Laine which would take up a big chunk of that.
got yaYou seem to think I'm debating with you, I'm not, just letting you know what's been reported. That's why it's believed the Flyers are out and their actions (signing other players) seem to back that up.
I don't think players are that perspicacious when it comes to things like that. They just see a franchise that's a prestigious place to play. They know that front offices are ephemeral. You could sign in a place and a month later, before you play a game, the entire front office could get blown up.As a general proposition I agree, but the front office of the Flyers just seems to be a tire fire.
Why U gotta make Chales Wang going from Neil Smith to Garth Snow jokes now?!I don't think players are that perspicacious when it comes to things like that.
