exacly scrap players , i think robidas and other in ahl are better , and the 2 first round picks will be high ones minds as well be 2nd rounders , we gave more tha necas and drury , like what 4 draft pics , is stankoven even better than drury?
Weekes says the return should be Stankoven + Borque + possibly some picks.

Add Hall to that and that's a good return for Necas + Drury

I would rather have had bish or borque and a first.

Would I have still moved nachos for stank and 2 firsts? Probably. Drury was a throw away.

Better than keeping the headcase around. Stank helps us more than nachos and is almost an immediate improvement imo.

If we get stank and borque plus? (P
Bish aslo please) not sorry that's BETTER for us than rantanen. WAY better. Dallas is the team in the west i follow and I've wanted stank for a while. Fact check me I've mentioned it here before.
so i took you up on the fact checking and you mentioned more than once wanting stank. as a matter of fact, you suggested necas + kk for him.

so, instead it is necas, drury, and some non-firsts for stank, hall, and 2 firsts. so, unless you thought drury >>> kk, you should be somewhat happy.

Flip the picks for Boeser or Jesus H, Boom
i hope he actually talks and sign him b4 trading for him , im done with rentals

Is it? I think Necas + Drury is much more valuable than the return.

Borque is 23 years old already; sure, he played good in the AHL the last couple of years but hasn't played well for the Stars this year. A righty but is he really worth it? Drury was a proven NHL player.

Stankoven has 9 goals this year plus is one of the smallest players in the NHL. Do you really think the Canes can succeed with a combo of 2 very small players on the roster this year let alone the future of Nadeau, Blake, Stankoven. I don't.

Hall could have been acquired from Chicago without the main trade.

Nah, trade fail by Canes Management if those are the assets.

FWIW: this year, we are toast anyway.

D isn't good enough and Florida, Tampa & Florida will walk over the Canes. In fact, if Rangers pass Jersey which I think they will, we will also be underdogs for that series given our roster

wow, return is Stankoven plus 2 firsts.....shit return.

That may have been when we were having issues and trying to trade him. It was also seeing KK as a negative asset.

But yes. I feel that 2 firsts and stank is low for an extended headcase though. I would have preferred one of bish at least or borque. I'll take it to get out from under rantanen.

If rod doesn't bury him, stank should immediately slot ahead of KK as 2c. Put him with svech and hall maybe.

I'm telling you guys. Stank is gonna impress you here and he's 22 we have plenty of rfa

Stanks biggest issue at center is his percentage in the dot. It's like 46. Other than that he's a great 2c candidate and I wonder if rba and Staal can help him there as he grows. He's only 22

Can someone give me a few succinct bullets as to what Carolina's approach is right now?

Necas
Drury
Rantanen
Guentzel

Whats going on there, genuinely curious.

We wanted to sign Guentzel but we f'ed around too much with the negotiation and lost him to Tampa.

Necas has always had long-term disagreements about his usage and fit here, and those spilled into contract negotiations. He was always eventually going to be moved.

We moved him (and Drury, who is fine) for Mikko Rantanen, who is an exceptionally good player. We wanted to extend him. In fact, we offered him a larger contract than the one he just accepted with Dallas. He didn't like being here and it showed in his play and attitude.

Since we weren't able to extend Rantanen, and didn't want to lose the investment we made in him for nothing, we flipped him to Dallas, for a package that we would've been good sending Necas and Drury for anyway. So... assets-wise we got better (contending this year-wise we probably didn't, but we've still got an hour an a half) than we did when we started. It was just a long, circuitous, dramatic route to get there.
