Oh man. I didn't even remember that was my thread.
Oh man. I didn't even remember that was my thread.
I don't even know if it's that we're not offering the right ones as much as it is arguably trying to squeeze a bit more to see if Suzuki can become Ponomarev all of a sudden. Basically a game of chicken and at the first artificial deadline they set we didn't blink. We likely aren’t offering the right ones and Dubas hoping someone will or give him the right futures he can flip
Nah, you need a few named Jeb, Cletus, Tex, and Bubba.
Skjei is worth a 1st IMO. In fact, probably a 1st +. I just don't like sending a 1st to a Metro team, but if it ends up being a mid-late 1st, that's a good deal IMO.
Slavin-Hamilton
Skjei-Pesce
that's a fantastic top four. I think they can figure out a way to make it work long term.
I don't think it is a desperation move. Canes were looking for a LHD BEFORE Hamilton got injured. Skjei fits what they are looking for and he's 25 and locked up to a reasonable deal for 4 more years. To me, a desperation deal would be trading for a rental defenseman.
... did they add "probably" because it's Dubas?Never gonna happen add another million at least at minimum

If that’s the case we are screwed lol
either 3 or 4PM eastern usually I believe, though stuff still trickles in well after. I don't believe we knew the details of getting Erik Cole back years ago until well after 5PM.Is it btw noon tomorrow or what time when the actual TDL is? I hope Canes make their moves today, my employer got us a strategy imposation meeting happenstance for tomorrow, and I don't trust I can keep up my "I am taking notes, sir" impression if staring at my phone the whole time.
All trades must be completed by 3PM ESTeither 3 or 4PM eastern usually I believe, though stuff still trickles in well after. I don't believe we knew the details of getting Erik Cole back years ago until well after 5PM.
I don't mind the deal on its own. It's a likely middle round first for a Top 4 defenseman. That's a good deal.
But it does worry me for the reasons already mentioned. We're now spending way too much on our defense, still have Svech and Dougie's contract to worry about, and this is yet another logjam for the defensive prospects we continue to acquire for whatever reason.
That is one beautiful avatar picture.Hmm I had a completely reasonable take. I must have had Covid.
just add a 1st and remove one of the lesser prospects. for f*ck's sake, get it done. Canes are primed to lose out on guentzel by sitting on their hands and watching vegas or the rangers outbid them. This is a pattern with this team. sort of stalking horse bidders. If canes don't complete the deal today, I fear another team will step up tomorrow. We likely aren’t offering the right ones and Dubas hoping someone will or give him the right futures he can flip
Dubas wants certain prospects that we don’t want to give up. Its a process.just add a 1st and remove one of the lesser prospects. for f*ck's sake, get it done. Nut up and get the player Dundon. enough of your 3D chess strategy. Show the league, your fans and the roster that you are decisive and serious about contending. niskishin is not leaving so this is a no-lose deal IMO. 1st and some prospects.
Oh man. I didn't even remember that was my thread.
I mean I even followed it up to say even if they missed the lottery it could still hit big because of the deep draft, and then.... Boom, JarvisThis will seriously backfire if Toronto completely collapses and they get a top 10 pick in the lottery.
yep, as I said earlier, it's a game of chicken. He's trying to see if he can pry loose someone like Pono or Nadeau instead of say Suzuki as we get closer to Friday afternoon.Dubas wants certain prospects that we don’t want to give up. Its a process.
From what I have gathered the Pens want Nikishin and the Canes have offered Morrow.Dubas wants certain prospects that we don’t want to give up. Its a process
i think its more like he wants to shake out a NIkishin, Blake, Morrow, or Nadeau instead of Pono, Kiovunen or similar.yep, as I said earlier, it's a game of chicken. He's trying to see if he can pry loose someone like Pono or Nadeau instead of say Suzuki as we get closer to Friday afternoon.
This one has been rattling around in my head since I read it.So, i'm easy. I won't cry if wlog. But if we're going to go big, go big.
In that spirit, i hope they've used the deadline to really gauge pesce's future. If he wants too much, plus no one wants tda, either offer him straight up for lindholm rental for rental or figure out what it takes to send him to the island for brock nelson. Hate to see him go, but at least it is close to his hometown.
Pair tda with skjei - they are good enough. Or slavin. Chatfield works with either orlov or burns. Sacrifice a little d to plug the giant 2c hole. Keeps tda on the powerplay the rest of the year.
Use whatever prospects/pick to get guentzal. Or figure out a package for buchnevich. If it takes drury, so be it - i'm good going to the playoffs with aho-(lindholm or nelson)-staal-kk down the middle.
If the islanders don't want pesce, figure out something around necas.
Use the remaining cap, if it exists to get duclair.
Any of that shit sticking to the wall?
If not, whatever. Gonna be a long 24+ hours...
Did you gather that by reading the same report we all did that said as much? From what I have gathered the Pens want Nikishin and the Canes have offered Morrow.
i think its more like he wants to shake out a NIkishin, Blake, Morrow, or Nadeau instead of Pono, Kiovunen or similar.
And he can get f***ed. If he's going to play that kind of hardball, go call up StLouis and use the same assets with a bit of a sweetener to get BuchnevichCanes appear willing to deal Morrow if Guentzel extends. The hold-up is definitely that Dubas thinks he can pry Nikishin because we're a divisional rival.
At least a J lo country tune on the radioNah, you need a few named Jeb, Cletus, Tex, and Bubba.
He can't.Canes appear willing to deal Morrow if Guentzel extends. The hold-up is definitely that Dubas thinks he can pry Nikishin because we're a divisional rival.
outside of Seravalli personal opinion, nothing suggests he would re-sign.Canes appear willing to deal Morrow if Guentzel extends. The hold-up is definitely that Dubas thinks he can pry Nikishin because we're a divisional rival.
