It's not a theory. It's what happened. Look at Ranger history and look at Pat Brisson history. Pat Brisson has 11 players on contracts of 7+ years now. Some of them are on their first big deal (MacKinnon), some are on their second big deal (Kopitar), and some took a shorter first deal and a bigger second deal (Giroux). Clearly he has no theory or opposition to anything and works with the parameters by the team for the specific player because he has done it all. The Rangers have given one non-UFA a deal that long in the last 15 years (Lundqvist 2nd big deal). They don't do it. It's possible it could change with JD. I already did the research on that during the summer however I do not remember the results.
so you with no actual knowledge of the private negotiations but have concluded an assumption of what has happened based on other info that you have of similar circumstances...pretty sure that is the definition of a theory
