With the uncertainty surrounding Nemeth, i think its becoming more likely that the Rangers add a defenseman of some sort before the deadline. No team in the league would want to go into the playoffs with an all-rookie pairing AND the only depth behind it being Nils & Hajek. Its good that Jones-Schneider is getting some run, but i think thats more a pairing for next year when both guys are a little more experienced.

I dont love Chiarot, but his game is suited to the playoffs and theres a reason all the contenders want him. I wouldnt trade a 1st or Lundkvist for him obviously, but some trade around Lehkonen + Chiarot coming to NY would help our depth issues significantly.

Is anyone else surprised that Evander Kane hasn't absolutely destroyed the Oilers room yet? I was told he is this huge cancer. Everyone hates him - especially GM Ryan Reaves. You wouldn't want him on your team. He's selfish and not a guy you win with. Yet, if I'm reading things correctly the Oilers are 5-2-1 since they signed him and he has 6 points in 8 games? Playing a heavy game with 32 hits, shooting the puck a ton, and scoring. Been on the ice for 5 GF and 1 GA so far. They've even trusted him on a line with McDavid or Draisaitl and he hasn't managed to damage their careers yet. I guess we couldn't have used him because he's strictly a LW and, as we know, moving a player from LW to RW is the toughest position change in - and across - sports.
The sarcasm dripping from this post is just delicious.

Your sarcastic posts make too much sense straight up for the unwary. The only dead give away is that you used a pretty large sample size - even for Evander it takes a bit longer to get the lay of the land before he starts doing his thing. Give it time.

If someone was to tell me the Rangers were considering add Lehkonen and letting Strome go in the offseason in favor of someone like Stastny on a short term deal I’d consider that. Someone on a shorter term deal as a stopgap. I could even get behind considering something like:

Kreider-Zibanejad-Lafreniere
Panarin-Goodrow-Kaako
Lehkonen-Chytil-Blais
Hunt-Barron-Reaves

all due respect to the fine city of Edmonton, but the night life/extra curricular activities Kane seems to like all shut down around 10pm.
I really don’t trust him in NY. As for his affect on the room, I’m sure he’ll wear out his welcome soon enough just as he did with the 3 teams before.
Both Buffalo and SJ were signing his praises early, both got rid of him for less then they paid to get him there.
NYR also wasn’t in a tailspin or nosedive like EDM was.
The risk/reward situation of bringing Kane to NY
Was far less desperate.
I’m sure it was discussed and deemed that the negatives outweighed the positives of adding Kane to a happy shop and a team that keeps finding ways to win.
With us having no captain and a bunch of kids, the character of the people they want to add is almost as important as the skill it seems.

This is completely false, I have spent an evening in Edmonton and was out all night. There is a lot going on in the city.

I feel like we may have won tonight if we had a little more even strength offense. Hey, that guy Caufield had 2 goals for MTL tonight. What about trading for him?
In our dreams.

There’s absolutely no comparison to the nightlife and amenities in NYC compared to EDM.
I’m happy you had a good time there. But it’s not close

It's not NYC, but it doesn't close at 10, that's an absolutely absurd statement to make.

There's a freakin CASINO in the arena. You know Kane has a huge gambling problem right?

The sticks of Hunt/Rooney/Mckegg...

Where forward rushes go to die.

There have to be better options that aren't too expensive...I would think.
