Wonder if he can be the solution to our 2C dilemma. He's actually won 100% of his faceoffs this year. That's the kind of guy you want for the end of games. Nils, Gauthier, and a 1st?

Why would Nashville trade this guy? Hes not a C but hes a good enough player that you deal for him and figure out the rest later.

Ya the only problem i guess for us is if we trade him we go to Kinkaid? I know Georgiev is a bit odd but if Shesterkin got hurt in playoffs id be comfortable with him in there, can't say the same for Kincaid
If it were me, I would retain 50% on Georgiev and take back Koskinen. Gives Edmonton a different look in net and gives them a little bit of cap space going into the deadline. Would increase the return.

He probably has made it known that he won't sign an extension in Nashville, which I find surprising. I figured they'd move money elsewhere to try and keep him.

Either way, isn't he more of a left winger than a center? Either way #2, he's going to make $8 million+ on the open market. He's not a fit here.

UFA. Traded to get value instead of self renting which is always a bad move. Rangers should trade Strome if not signed by the trade deadline. It worked for Kreider

We’re spending almost all of our trade capital for a rental who plays the 1 position we don’t need to address?

He plays both wings. He has played RW and was drafted as a RW

I dont agree with that at all. The on-ice value Strome/Forsberg provide to their teams down the stretch & in the playoffs is worth more than any future assets.

Why take a chance of losing the asset for nothing is always a bad move. Nothing is guaranteed. I bet Strome will be signed or traded like Kreider could have been if he didn't resign here.

Because the point is to try and win not to try and collect the maximum number of draft picks. Teams in the playoffs don't trade away top rentals. Forsberg is obviously an exception being an elite one, with high trade value, NSH being a borderline playoff team, and obviously they are aware he's not going to extend at a rate they are comfortable with.

Self rentals are inevitable. If there were none then no player would ever reach FA.

Strome isnt getting traded if hes unsigned. Brooks already confirmed as much. The difference with Kreider was that the Rangers werent a playoff team when they re-signed him

Feel like if Igor goes down we are in trouble no matter what.

But I certainly would look to replace Georgiev with someone like Greiss or Halak. Fleury would never happen but he would be the ultimate 1B
