What you say is worth repeating. I do think the roster in general doesn’t need a McKegg but it is what it is. I’d rather see Barron too. But until I’m actually in the coaches’ room I won’t go crazy.

If Chicago is trading Dach to Debrincat to the NYR, one of Lafreniere or Kakko is headed their other way.

Personally, I'm not making that move, conceding bother Chi-Town boys are better today.

Debrincat is another LW'er more of the same problem we are dealing with not.

I'd over pay (with assets) for Dach though. Hes the long term young center people here have been clamoring for.

Just not interested in moving either Kk or AL to get KD

Debrincat is worth Nils a first and probably Chytil alone. 24 year old 35 plus goal scorer. Adding Dach on top of that???

With Hughes-Hirchsier-Mercer down the middle for a long time, they have the cap space and need the firepower on the wings.....
That’s the type of move that makes a statement for them, add big cat and Hagel to Bratt and a healthy Wood next season and bingo bango, there’s their fwd depth

Even with 50% retention, I don’t think it would work. The cost of Kane @50% will be staggering. And most importantly he doesn’t play Center so who the hell centers the second line next year?

I suspect the front office doesn’t really care so much about getting a “2C” so to speak. Or at least they’ve loaded up on wings and I think getting “complete” centers, unless they’re on ELCs or similar, is probably not possible. So they’re probably cool with a more defensive oriented center if the wingers are dynamic scorers. I think the line-creation formula is scorer, scorer, mucker and they don’t care which one does which as long as the mucker plays responsibly. I guess…

Sign Kadri as a UFA . He would be a nasty addition to our top 6 pretty boy crew . If it means keeping cheap guys for 3-4th line spots....do it . Panarin-Kreider & Zib-Kadri & Laf-Kakko and fill it out with Blais-Barron-Goodrow and Hunt-Rooney-Gauthier/Reaves and or Othmann /Cuylee . ??? A cheap back up, Jones/Robertson for Nemeth spot . Anyone want to take a stab at the math on that for next season ? Is it possible ? How about the following season ? I'd love to have Kadri.

I think Kadri is - sometimes - dirty but he’s not really a junkyard dog. He floats too. And picks his spots. I’m not a huge fan. He’s having a great year but he’s also prone to losing the plot. Reminds me of a more refined Max Domi. Probably prefer to get Domi on the cheap, though he has his own baggage.

I do agree the rangers still need a little more…attitude.

I rather have Domi, cheaper and with his dad being a fan favorite here, I am sure his dad would help with the issues that he would have, if he was to have any. I like Kadri but some team would overpay for him. I rather get Domi at the deadline

You gotta figure that one or more of those guys would go back to Chicago in that deal. No way can they get those guys with giving up a bunch of trash that makes up a lot of their lineup.

Kadri is gonna get 7x8 after this season and some team is gonna be real perturbed when they end up back with the standard 60 points 2nd liner version of Kadri for the first three years then shit after that.

Really? If we can sign Kadri to a similar deal as Reinhart (6.5m x 3) then we MAYBE could afford him (if Georgiev is traded for draft capital + trade Nemeth and 2nd to Arizona). Assuming Kaapo and Blais combined cap hit comes in at around 4m, we let Rooney walk in UFA, Gauthier and Hajek sign near league minimum.

That’s perfectly fine for a guy who can produce and be around for more than a year plus unlike someone like JT Miller.
