So you're ok with the 5v5 play, the lack of development of Laf and Kakko, the overplaying of plugs, and the constant usage of Patrick Nemeth then. Got it. All of these things are, of course, a recipe for long term success.
I’m happy with the record, no teams are perfect. Patience with the kids. He was given Nemitz, he’ll use him some. Blais and Kakko injuries had downstream affect on 3rd line. It’s been a good season overall. I’m ok with that. There are many components to a team. Ours happens to be particularly good at special teams, goaltending and top end scoring

Sign Kadri as a UFA . He would be a nasty addition to our top 6 pretty boy crew . If it means keeping cheap guys for 3-4th line spots....do it . Panarin-Kreider & Zib-Kadri & Laf-Kakko and fill it out with Blais-Barron-Goodrow and Hunt-Rooney-Gauthier/Reaves and or Othmann /Cuylee . ??? A cheap back up, Jones/Robertson for Nemeth spot . Anyone want to take a stab at the math on that for next season ? Is it possible ? How about the following season ? I'd love to have Kadri.

Kadri is gonna get 7x8 after this season and some team is gonna be real perturbed when they end up back with the standard 60 points 2nd liner version of Kadri for the first three years then shit after that.
He might....but I doubt he will . I think more like 7.5x6 . He likely will age as well as the duo we have signed to lead us .

I’m not opposed to trying Laf at center, but it makes more sense to try it now while the team has a cushion in the standings and before they let Strome walk. Last time the team assumed anything they got Chytiled.

Dolan has no idea who Sam Bennett is. But Gorton should've been all over that regardless.
That’s not the point. The point is that the Rangers have no one that played that game in the lineup, and Gorton got fired for waiting too long to get those types of players.

Even with 50% retention, I don’t think it would work. The cost of Kane @50% will be staggering. And most importantly he doesn’t play Center so who the hell centers the second line next year?
Not if Kane narrows his NMC list and requests a trade. That will drop his value dramatically

See Strome is smart enough to know the team needs to go to the greasy areas and play simpler hockey some times, which makes it a little more frustrating when he doesn’t take the initiative to do it himself. Especially when Kakko is playing with those two. He stays in the perimeter.

He’s not so amazing that he should be absolved of any physical responsibilities the way Panarin is.

I think the only one who might be available is Wild Bill.

Pretty amazing that they got Stephenson for a 5th & Roy who's currently at a league minimum for a washed up Haula.
If we could get a 3rd team involved to retain some money, he'd be perfect.... but it'd be pricey

How about Paul Stastny at the deadline??

Stastney for Gauthier and 2ed (Blues)

UFA next summer.

I prefer Pavelski but it is up to the Stars what they want to do.

Kakko literally goes in front of the net to wrestle with a Dman. He never stays on the perimeter. Panarin always looks to pick up the third man coming in. It's Panarin who stays in his office along the left boards.

Brannstrom took 3 minor penalties in the first period against the Sabres a few nights ago. DJ Smith wasn't happy with that performance. His name has been mentioned in trade rumors. Jeff Marek and Elliotte Friedman have discussed him on their podcast. He was also mentioned in The Athletic article regarding the which team says no to trade proposals. One of the executives said Ottawa is trying to move Brannstrom to his 3rd NHL team, another executive said Brannstrom needs "to be great offensively to carve out a significant NHL role" for him in The NHL and hasn't done it so far and the other exec said "are people trying to pretend Brannstrom is good again". Those were the responses regarding Brannstrom in the trade proposals.
Sounds a lot like Hajek. Doesn’t play great defense. Doesn’t aid the attack enough. Seventh D type. Frederik Claesson. Nils has a chance to be a real pp contributor with solid defense. Different tier players.
