You're moving the goalposts to fit the narrative, every shift counts.
But that is just looking at numbers with blinders on. Lines are regularly broken up for special teams and other players have to fill in. Fast has been on Panarin's right for most of the season.

Georgiev tomorrow confirmed

I think if Shesterkin is good to go next week we most likely witnessed the last game of Henrik Lundqvists Rangers career.

Not looking to beat a dead horse and I get that, but saying "Fast played with him all year when we only use these data points" is factually inaccurate. The point of the OP was the correlation to Strome, and if Strome played 13% more overall shifts and potentially alot more offensive shifts, then how can you use Fast as the baseline for not overproducing with Panarin?

I'd imagine he'd at least get the Devils game at MSG this weekend. They're not going to let him go out in a blowout loss like yesterday.

If Shesterkin is ready at any point next week I don’t think he plays again unless we’re out of it or we’ve clinched.

seriously think that may be it. Unless Georgie gets his doors blown off tomorrow which he normally doesn’t. He good-great-ugh in every 3 game series he plays

Would have liked to seen Henrik. Physically he might still be tired(?), but it's like 2 days to mentally recover- which is what I think is hurting Lundqvist the most. If it's Tuesday night and he's not playing well, then I'd look to put Georgiev back in.

I'm actually not sure Fast's stats are still "junk." He is on pace for a career high of 36 points.

Over the four years prior to this one, Fast has been averaging about 0.366 points per game, this year that has jumped to 0.444 points per game.

This year Strome is at 0.892 ppg, and the last 5 years he has averaged 0.461 ppg (I use 5 for Strome instead of 4 because his ascendancy to useful player seemed to have happened 5 years ago, versus 4 for Fast).

They eached experienced a substantial jump this year, Strome's was just much larger.... but Fast is kind of a defensive forward whose role probably isn't to chip in points. Plus, again, the lesser time spent with Panarin.

I'm not weighing in on the ultimate debate, but these are the numbers as I see them.
Strome plays on the PP too.

IMO, he should be 120% before we put our future goalie in again. This is about the future, not the next 30 days as i see it.

Not for nothing at 1-0 philly (I’m watching the replay back now) Carter Hart makes 5 10-bell saves along with Mika missing a wide open net on the PP. he allows his team to take over the game with the 2nd goal. Both awful ones on hank.

it’s the kind of start Shesterkin has been giving us every game. Even top teams have breakdowns that lead to great chances. Timely saves are so big in this league. There are very few teams that have elite offense elite defense and elite goaltending. When we have Shesterkin in net we have 2 out of 3.

Just going to leave this here. I'm not saying Strome should be re-signed at all costs, but these are the Rangers point leaders over the last 6 years previous to this one. Yes he is playing with Panarin. But for a team who's highest scoring forward before Zibanejad had 69 points in 2014-2015, it may be worthwhile to keep him around for secondary scoring.

And yes, I projected Strome's point totals out to 82 games for this year jut as a reference

Scoring is way up this season in general though. That has to be taken into account

Also: How the hell did we reach the Cup final with nobody hitting 60 points in the season? DAMN

it’s just a small rib injury he wouldn’t be skating at all if it were serious. Wouldn’t be able to breathe. Not a knee or head issue something like that.

Yeah, it's a rib. He should be able to skate yet the test is extending your arm, or lifting/playing your stick, falling, etc. A rib gets displaced due to stretching or tramau. It's takes some time for that elasticity to tighten back up.

elite goalie elite team defense that did anything to win. And we were also the fastest team in the league or at least we played the fastest. Lot of teams copied us after that season. Pens in particular with Sully

ultimately not having game breakers was the reason we lost those years. Imagine having Mika and or Panarin on those teams?

I mean he’s facing shots. Low ones but he’s going into the butterfly and facing shots. Wouldn’t be doing that with any kind of serious rib injury

It's up 0.02 goals/game from last year the equivalent of 1.6 goals/season/team. 17-18 was the point where scoring jumped. Last 3 years have held constant.

Ah. I haven't checked recently, but know early on the G/GP average was way up

Again where do they attach their timeline? Do they have one?

I don't know myself where I'd go with this at this point if it were me. I know what I would have done at the deadline. Yet now that they made those choices, it kind of leaves them with even tougher choices.
Tougher choices yes, but better than NO choices.

Not liking his penalties lately. Thought he was smarter than that. Maybe not. Really cost us last 2 games, maybe even a win. Timing was really bad.
