Wall, Miller, Barron, Pajuniemi, Lundkvist all likely sign ELCs. BUt there are lots of expiring contracts. Trades. Therefore expect 2-3 more swing for the fences organisational signings from Europe, NCAA or Jrs.

With the game the way it is.... if you have a legit shot at the NHL, every year is close to $1M in earnings on your ELC. You play well and establish yourself, you get a lifetime deal by 22-23. You don't establish yourself, you get a bridge.

that assumes that you make the NHL and don't get hurt...it makes sense for the majority of college players to graduate because the majority of college players won't make it in the nhl. but its a vastly different discussion for different players

Agreed, which is why I said if you have a legitimate shot. Even then, you can always go back. You don't need to be able bodied to get a degree. You need to be able bodied to play in the NHL.

With the game the way it is now, there aren't a lot of able bodied players past the age of 32 as there were in years past, so those prime years are more valuable to a younger player.

He only had an EAC for the first year, so I expect him to be back, unless they terminate his contract

So for those who want to leave early, at the very least finish your degree now.

Kind of hard to finish and leave early...

UDFA's really have no choice but to finish and they should, not only from the standpoint of finishing a degree but also to give themselves as much of a chance to develop as possible. 1st round picks? Way different story.

Kid wants nothing to do with college classes and I don’t blame him. He’s got no college debt will be making tons of money for years playing hockey and can always finish up later like so many do. Not to mention he’ll be handed whatever job he wants when he’s done with his nhl career.

Wisconsin as I’ve said for months and months is an absolute mess and the sooner we get him out of there the better.
