Zibanejad-Strome-Dvorak is excellent center depth
Christian Dvorak is the plain yogurt of hockey players.

Idk what the fetish is with wanting to pay $4.5M for a guy who does nothing above average but win faceoffs and hasn't hit 20g or 40p in his entire career which looks suspiciously like it peaked during his ELC.

One of the few guys i would have wanted off Mtl was Toffoli, obviously id want Romanov or Caufield but I'm doubtful Gorton lets them go

Stone to LTIR for Vegas, Eichel in Wednesday

I know people love to say this is "cheating" but Stone has a lingering back injury thats forced him to miss games all year. Putting him on LTIR is a no-brainer.

Lets just hope this loophole doesn't get closed because the Rangers will prbably be using it to their advantage in the coming years

back or shoulder? or both?

I saw him get hurt earlier in the year during a game where he went awkwardly into the boards on a shorthanded rush and it looked like a shoulder issue and since then he seemed to be struggling on and off with something.

I think back has been ongoing. Maybe shoulder is compounding it,

Idk what the exact injury is but its clear he's been playing hurt. They need him healthy to win a Cup regardless so this was the easiest decision Vegas has ever made. Theyll lose Smith/Janmark in the offseason and probably look to move Wild Bill. One last ride for the Misfits.

FYI, Staple may have been covering the Islanders for a while, but he grew up as a Rangers fan....
Then he should think about how annoyed Rangers fans must be to constantly having their new writer at the Athletic comparing them to the Islanders.

I've seen multiple people in his comment sections calling it out so I'm not the only one noticing it.

He refers to the Islanders like they're the Blackhawks of the 2010s or something.

If random UDFAs who start off decently are worth that price, we are in for a wild ride.

Whoever we make a move for, make sure theyre cheap. Role players should be cheap. If we target a rental as well, then idc abou their cap hit and that helps.

Montreal is the team I'm looking at that could give Nils as much runway as he needs. They have Chris Wideman running their point. No standout offensive d-man in the system. Lots of lefties on the club right now. Leaders of each front office might hate each other, but they can work through that.

There is no one on montreal that is worth Nils. Unless its for Nick Suzuki

Nils for Caufield?

NO NO NO

Stop trying to trade for Caufield. He has shown that he does NOT have ability to do anything in the NHL. Stop with this nonsense please.

He is a small undersized winger who cant win battles, cant skate, and cant play defense, and for someone who is supposed to be known as a scorer cant get anything done on offense either.

You guys seem to just want to give guys away. Nils for Caufield is giving Nils away and a horrible trade for us.

No wonder he hasnt been traded yet. In all seriousness, Hagel has a lot of value as a 23 year old scoring at a 50 point pace who is making peanuts for this year and the 2 after it.
id start off with Lundkvist and go see if that start the talks.

Hagel is a very good player on an insanely valuable contract for another 2 years. I'm not surprised that is the asking price for him. As always what defines a top prospect is subjective but if it included the likes of Kravtsov/Lundkvist I would be willing to meet it.

I don't believe that Philly would trade Giroux to the Rangers, except for a massive overpayment. I think J.T Miller would be a great fit; and would play with a chip on his shoulder being back in New York. I like his versatility, being able to slot in at wing or center as well.

Agree. The smoke is around Colorado right now. That's where he's going.
