Not sure I'd even like but I wonder if something around Drouin might be something that's being discussed. Drouin can almost be a Miller light addition. Can play all 3 positions. Fit on Panarin-Strome line for now if Laff/K2 doesn't work out when they're healthy. It'd prob Lundkvist that Gorts is aiming for.

I don’t think he’d be a target but anything’s possible I guess, I definitely agree on Lundkvist though

Really dont have much interest in MTLs roster. Nothing excites me. Maybe Anderson but they would have to retain. Lekhonen, but they are asking for the moon. I also dont really want Drury dealing with Gorton. I think the optics no matter what the deal is would be a lose/lose for Drury.

I also dont see Drury paying the high price for Lekhonen when its rumored he has the 1st round pick on the table for a better player in JT Miller.

Anderson really does seem like a perfect fit for the Bread line, raises his game in the playoffs too but that contract, even with retention is tough

According to that tweet LeBrun is saying it's not about picks but the prospects for Montreal. So they could have a deal for Miller with their first and then make a strict player deal with Montreal. Either way nothing really excites me from the Habs. I'm hoping this is more of a people like the put the Rangers name out there type of thing.

Lehkonen, Kulak, Wideman, Perreault are the only names that interest me that are conceivably available from Montreal. I assume Chiarot is part of the discussions as well which is just annoying but not unexpected since we've heard his name bandied about with the Rangers the last few days too. I wonder if there's a possible prospect swap with Caufield as well. That's a dream more than anything though;.

31-13-4, and 16-4-2 at home. And all people ever talk about in here is that this team can't win the cup.

No wonder older posters stay away.
Not can't, that would be BS.
Odds are won't, which applies to most teams, even teams with our record. It's not even a knock against the team. If you don't think a cup win this year would be an absolute miracle, then god bless. There are top tier teams that everyone knows about, and we are in some tier below that, either one or two below depending on where the cards fall come TDL.

Yeah they did that once in 2014, that was the only time when they were the better team. Rangers were the better team in 2015 and they got run out of the building by them in 2016.
And now it’s 2022. Not saying Rangers should be favorites but need to see how they matchup before waiving the white flag (like I did after the Colorado games for example)

It's sad because the people who are only focusing on the negative and letting it overrun their feelings on the team are missing out. This is an extremely likable group that is so young and still improving, they're a fun team to watch, we have multiple star players across the roster.

People are missing out on a very fun and likable team.

Fair enough. Let's see how they play against them next week and then make a determination. As always, I hope to be wrong, but I get the same vibes that I did prior to that Carolina game.

Nils for Caufield as a pure prospect swap? Would think Drury wants to use that trade chip elsewhere and doesn’t wasn’t to risk egg on his face if the trade works out in Montreal’s favor

I think they are very likeable. That Jones-Schneider pairing last night is all I've been asking for. That doesn't mean that we can't point out this teams obvious flaws and discuss it. Doesn't always have to be sunshine and roses because it isn't.

I don't know about fun.

The 2019 pre-covid team was fun.

This team is bittersweet... We do a lot of things well and most importantly, we win. But our average 5v5 gameplay is infuriating at times.

That's along the lines of what I had in mind, not sure how much interest there would be for Montreal but I think it would be worthwhile for the Rangers.

There is nothing wrong with thinking the team would be the underdog in most playoff matchups. It's not like we wouldn't be rooting for the upset, which in a lot of ways can be even more fun. There are ALWAYS upsets every year, why not us? That is what I want to happen!
