I think most everyone on our side has checked out of the VAN trade threads in main board... Those fans just don't get it for some reason or another
The offensive production speaks for itself but beyond that, the guy makes his linemates better. He has phenomenal chemistry with Panarin, which is not a given. He’s also a pure leader, on and off the ice. He sticks up for himself and his teammates and he’s doing and saying all the right things off the ice as well. I think he’s a great 2C and a lot of people think he’ll be so easy to upgrade but again, that chemistry with Panarin is not a given, and all the intangibles he brings to the table are great for all the young guys to see as well.
Rangers fans thought we should get Point for McDonagh. Lots of crazies out there.
What we are offering for Miller must read like delusion to Canucks fans but then they're doing the same thing in the opposite direction. I hope we are proven right but I also just don't want to trade for Miller unless the price is fair but he has too many suitors. At $2.88M cap or whatever for 2 years, you'd have to think FLA or COL is the team that is willing to go broke when their contention window is wide open.
I don't see how we beat what they're offering.
Sergachev was always the guy that at least bordered on reasonable. But there were some, and still are some, way out there who thought Point was a reasonable ask.Sergachev was the guy. McDonagh was signed until 2019. Two playoff runs. The Vancouver fans are singing the same song.
You’re the one posting it. You tell us.

When I saw Miller got added to the trade I thought for sure we got Sergachev.Rangers fans thought we should get Point for McDonagh. Lots of crazies out there.
Miller is a better player. Easily.
He did say it. I specifically asked him, as he said he didn't think the Blais deal was their best offer. I said, what were the better offers? He said Kupari and a first. Verbatem.
You wouldn't think a grown ass adult would get into a shouting match with a 20 year old kid and run him off to Eurasia to the detriment of your billion dollar franchise either, but here we are. A serious of ridiculous decisions beginning to become a pattern, and a JT Miller trade will be strike 3.
I will issue the caveat that it is possible that Drury is simply a spineless pawn instead of an idiot, and that Sather/Dolan are ordering him around.
Also, for like the 14th time, no one is claiming it was the 8th overall pick. I do assume there was probably protections and it probably would have become a first round pick in this coming year's draft.
While the Canucks have been better under Boudreau, there are still a stretch for the playoffs. Their cap situation, short and long term is a mess. The OEL contract will be an anchor for years to come. Rutherford has been very open about clearing cap space. They are not retaining. I like @RangerBoy suggestion of Chytil, Kravtsov and a second for Miller. Would fit both teams needs and budgets.
NoWould you do
Nils, VK and out 2nd for Garland
Goat and 3rd for Lek
Geo to Edmonton for their 2nd and 3rd.
I think you and I are remembering the same conversation quite differently.
Let’s revisit:
You seem to be the only person who recalls Edge specifically saying that NYR had both deals on the table simultaneously and chose Blais and the second. I don’t think that was the case, he said that the LAK made an offer with Kupari and a first and also that the NYR did target Blais, but not that they were concurrent things. AS FAR AS I RECALL. But for the sake of argument let’s say that WAS the case.
Edge did NOT give specifics. Did not say that was the entire deal straight up, did not say what year the pick was, did not say what protections and conditions there might have been. Maybe it was a 1st in 2023 as I see many saying. I doubt there would not be a top ten protection on it. So now it’s before the 2021 draft and you might be looking at a 2024 pick. Maybe it was a 1st rounder contingent on LAK making the playoffs or winning one round, otherwise it’s a second. That wouldn’t look like the same golden deal now would it? There are a load of different scenarios we could be talking about even if I give you the benefit of the doubt. Making it seem like the 8OA and Kupari is just a false narrative for bashing.
Also, dude. You have to stop with the Drury boogeyman scaring poor Krav back to Russia by raising his voice at him. Especially when it happened the season before and Krav came back to camp like normal and only left (again) after he didn’t get his way. It just shows your bias against Drury and colors your other statements. Krav is what 22? He is scarred for life by getting yelled at? Please. I hear he’s had a privileged life but that’s RIDICULOUS.
yes to all 3.Would you do
