On the other hand we have two more small offensive RDs (Fox, Lundkvist) and we desperatly need a two way top pairing LD (Byram will probably meet these expectations . I know in case of prospects with 0 GP in nhl nothing is granted but the risk would not be high imo). Moreover we would free up plenty of cap space.

if we trade deangelo, imo, it better be for a young elite forward...our depth at forward is not good, so if you use our d depth to sell high and turn him into a top forward I get the logic. not really on board with using our excess d depth to trade for another d.
