I thought he was decent in the playoffs last year at spots but could he really fetch a first? I know he was highly touted but he he has scoed 2 goals in 56 games and 5 in 57. 2 goals in 56 games!!! I mean thats pretty horrible territory especially on one of the better offensive teams in the league

LoL, he's playing on the 4th line. He's not playing with Mak or Rant out there. Too much depth in front of him. He would be a good prospect to get.

obviously its possible if the right deal is there but I'd be shocked if any non-ufa gets moved tomorrow unless its a no brainer deal...I'm just thinking that given the teams current situations its hard enough to ship out kreider and fast but everyone knows the situation...moving out other guys would be really tough. I think if you are looking at deals for skjei, buch, strome etc they will happen over the summer

Well teams know Gorton is against the clock now. He waited WAY too long to try and sign Kreider. They will tell Gorton to take it or have Kreider walk for nothing on July 1st.

I'm not expecting much back more than a 1st and ok prospect. Hayes deal could end up being better than what we get for Kreider if we trade him.

Kreider’s market bottomed out when Boston attached their 1st to Backes. Gorton did nothing wrong. If it wasn’t a lousy Avalanche offer and Metro teams currently in the running, we would be talking about how much Kreider raised his value in the last weeks. If the Rangers weren’t back in a playoffs race (largely because of Kreider) no one would care if he went to a Metro team either. Kreider did what he could have to raise his value and Gorton is completely right to ask for a lot. AND they still have a chance to extend him.

Not even. I’d honestly rather have Howden. I know what Howden is. Jost is a tweener. He isn’t good enough for top six. Isn’t gritty enough for bottom six. Doesn’t play uptempo. Doesn’t trap. Isn’t really a center, isn’t really a winger. What is he? Avs have given him numerous opportunities to show he could do....well anything with consistency. He hasn’t. He doesn’t have a role. He is just a guy who was taken in the first round. Let someone else figure out what to do with him.

We don't know anything. Everything is speculation. As was mine, but that's what I think. Gorton doesn't always have to wait for the last second with everything. An ultimatum should have been put on Kreider to take it or leave it days ago. Then he could have focused on getting the best deal if he wasn't taking their final offer.

But Kreider has theoretically raised his value during your proposed moratorium period. Gorton job is to get the best deal. One way or the other.

If it is crazy just tell me:

ADA and Hank (50% retained) for Byram.

I know they have Makar at RD and PP but I think that deal would increase their chances for SC this season. They would lose top prospect but ADA is very promising young D as well who has proved his skills at nhl level.

No clue, I don't watch Avs much. But he's only 21, I'm not really to throw the bust card out yet. It seems though a poster or 2 are much more down on him here than the Av fans themselves.

We likely aren't even going to trade with the Avs anyway.

He's been better this year than any previous years. It's just once they got Hoffman he went off PP1 and he's really good on the PP so his overall numbers tanked.

Looking at his 5v5 numbers he seems a lot like pre 2019-20 Zibanejad; decent scorer and very good possession driver. His possession metrics have been great aside from 2017-18 when he played a pure shutdown role.
